Somehow you got stranded on an island, but with one other person and only one other thing. Who in the whole world would you want with you, and what one thing would you also want to have? Tell us, if you would, why that one person and that one particular thing. Share your thoughts.

I guess I'd pick my girlfriend, why... I think it's obvious? :P She's the only person I could actually refer home to. What I'd want to have... A motorboat with a lot of benzine, so I could get back home on a joyride^^

If I were to be stranded on an island with only one person. I would choose him to be my special someone, boyfriend or husband depends on what status we were when we got boat wrecked...LOL.. And the only thing I want to have with us. It is fire. Because with fire, you can do so many things. You can cook. You can boil water to make it potable or drinkable. You can forge instruments like knife, rake, spear etc... You can build your shelter with the help of fire. It is very useful in sharping edges used in the foundation of the hut. And many other things to mention. I think with these two things, the one I love and fire. I can live stranded on an island. (^^,)

...Hi Aphroditei, Now that makes being stranded a little easier. "o) Well it sounds as if you were a girl scout once. Fire would assist you in all those things, plus keep you warm if you were cold. Catch a few fish, find some berries. Good deduction on your part, I don't think that you would have any problem surviving being stranded especially with your special someone. "o) Take good care, thanks for your reply.

If I will be stranded in an Island, I'd rather be with my husband as he can help me survive in hunting our food, bringing heavy woods to start a camp site... all the man labor hehehe as I have my laptop with Internet connection to ask help from friends and families.

.....Hi sweetmafia, Well from your response it appears that you will absolutely be able to survive in possible hostile terrority. Very important to have your laptop with good batteries. If I were stranded I think the best thing in the world would be to have a man with you, for any number if reasons, most of all safety and food gathering. "o) Thanks very much for your response, take care.

...Hi mimiang, Most people, if they can have a choice would probably want to have a loved one with them for company and companionship. I would. The food is a good idea although I guess I would want seeds of some kind, so that I could grow something. You would have to have very strong long lasting batteries for your computer I think, or a long, long cord. Thanks for your response, take care.

hello artistry, Interesting discussion! If I get stranded & can take only one person that would be my daughter, she always want me beside her and she is the source of my strength so that would be very easy,I can do everything with her beside me,I won't get tired...and the particular thing I would bring a container-to put fresh water that I will collect for us to drink,I don't need anything else as I myself will do it,I will collect coconut leaves & make a shelter and make a blanket to warm us,I can make fire using natural method,I can explore the whole island & look for fresh spring so we will have fresh water to drink...and I can look for fruits to eat & I can fish using a wooden stick and cooked in on fire.Me & my daughter will make the most of our time in the island & enjoy each other...have a great day!

...Hi shenlynn, After reading your response, I declare you just wrote a children's story. That is so special, and just like a good mother would answer, as I mentioned to another person who said they would want their little boy with them. You both are protective of your youngsters. But this definitely has the sound of a story for children. With your creativity you both could survive and have fun in the meantimne. Take care and thanks so much for your reply.

I actually need one person and three things. Michael Phelps, a stick with rope and a gold medal. Haha.

...Hi catalyser, Now I am wondering here, do you want Michael Phelps for company here or so that he can swim home with you being towed or something? "o) Just asking. So if I am guessing right, you have no intention of being stranded on the island for very long. Sounds like a plan to me. Good luck to you and your ingenuity. very creative, if I might say so. Take care, thanks for stopping by.

If ever I am stranded on an island the best person I would to like to have with me is my lifetime friend and companion. I simply cannot do without that person.

..Hi achilles, I think that would make being stranded on the island very bearable indeed. The two of you could work out ways and means to get off the island, if you wanted to. "o) Or you two could think of survival techniques. Most of us would want a loved one with us to have companionship, if not the comfort of home at least. Thanks so much for your response. Take care.

I asked a friend basically the same question and wanted to hear others answers. I concluded everyone is either beyond stupid or didn't think very logically about the question (Bear grills was the exception to this but I think that guy might be more of a hinderence with his unnecessary sense of urgency and tendency to put himself in danger). Michael Phelps would only be useful if you had an overgrowth of cannabis that didn't allow you to explore the island further and thus needed someone to dispose of it. Anyhow, a hammer to make fire? Not only does this not make sense but it's utility in terms of all the other things you could bring is infinitesimal (it's not like your short on time so you could figure out how to make a fire by other means). If you wanted to live on the island, a perpetual food source would be a good idea ie seeds or animals that could be bred and eaten. If your planning on staying on the island that is... Personally, I would pick a veteran navy pilot as my person and a pontoon plane as my thing. I'd be off the island in all of 15 minutes.

...Hi there Capucchi, Welcome to the ranch, enjoy, it's a nice place to meet new friends. Thanks for your detailed answer. But if you think about your answer, you would not be stranded on the island if you had a pontoon plane and a navy pilot in the first place would you? You would be gone before you got there, yes? "o) Take care.
