Why do people do this?

Last night I was working in the t-shirt aisle of the craft store I work in. People steal t-shirts like crazy, so I was putting the sensor/ink bombs on the shirts to keep them from being stolen.
Well, a lady came on the aisle with her son, and began picking up the size small of every color, holding it against her son then wadding them up and throwing them on random shelves.
Why do people purposely trash stores so that I have to clean up after them? I mean, 1) The size small is the same size in EVERY color, a small black isn't going to be any bigger or smaller than a small red! and 2) If you're going to unfold all of those shirts, the least you could do is PRETEND to fold them back. You see me standing here working, are you being super messy on purpose becuase it makes you feel better about yourself?

Am sorry to hear that, but yeah sometimes people just won't bother to think when buying, let alone choosing things to buy..
And yup being super messy sometimes reflects one's behavior of trying to feel good abt themselves

Like you said, these people are making distractions in the hope of getting away with a shirt or two. Some of them steal because of money and some do so just for the thrill of it. Either way, you have to be careful of these people. Some, when they get caught, they come back for vengeance. Make sure that when you catch them, let the guards or somebody in authority do it for you.
