Currently, a massive riot occurred in Bangkok. This day also had reported that there were six victims of gunshots, while the burst of gunfire keep echoing in the main roads. Bangkok have been turned into a fierce battleground between the army with the demonstrators Red Shirt. Death toll increased to 23 people within two days, killing as many as 150 people injured. 141 people injured, three victims are citizen country Canada, Myanmar and Poland. This is the riot that really blindly. The situation in Bangkok is almost like a civil war. I'm not sure how this conflict will end. But why the king of Thailand not intervene? whether the king in Thailand just be a symbol of country?

advokatku, The King of Thailand is regarded as the head of state and the head of the ruling Royal House of Chakri, which incidentally is the Chakri dynasty. Although, the King who is currently King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who may be a constitutional figurehead but he has or holds quite a huge respect and reverence from the Thai people. He may be a symbolic figurehead but the king still retains many powers such as: being head of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, the prerogative of royal assent and the power of pardon. He is also the statement of the Buddhist faith, which is the national religion of Thailand. Being the most revered and respected figure, he has been instrumental to the peace in quite a number of political conflicts and bloody military coups. So, he is not only a mere symbol and I hope that he would intervene once again with this current political turbulence. Have a great day.
