I wasn't able to vote because I am not registered. Anyway, I was supposed to vote for Noynoy but he is leading so it doesn't make much difference.
For those who are in the Philippines and was able to follow the details of the election, can you say that the computerization of the eclection was a success? or was it just another way for the government officials to keep the Filipino taxpayers' money to themselves?
Are you happy with the result of the election? Will the Philippines prosper at last???

the first automated election that has just passed was a success, in my opinion. of course, some that doesn't agree are just very few that don't have a heart to accept the fact that their candidates or the candidates themselves lost. and the experience is very satisfying since we were able to exercise our right to vote.

The fact that Noynoy is leading I am totally happy with the result of election. I can't say there will be 100% progress in terms of elections since there are some problems that they are encountering in terms of pcos machine and others are claiming that there are still manipulation but I totally care on how it goes like the only thing you need to do is to shade your chosen candidate or you don't need to write their names anymore.

Well if you compared it with the last election this election is really fast in getting the information and counting them was almost lightning fast, except of course for some areas in the Philippines where there seems to be difficulty in counting the votes and sending them was not made. It comprise of about 10% which I think is already good. We can already see that there are many that did not encounter any problem the counting was indeed fast and local officials were immediately proclaimed as there were almost none that filed complaint of any anomalies in the counting.
Although there are some groups that claimed that the counting was already pre-programmed but I guess that would take some time gathering evidences that there was such a thing that pre-programmed count.

Every vote counts, and Mar would have been grateful for your vote. :-)
The automation of our election has been the subject of a lot talk here in mylot, the blogosphere and everywhere else here. Personally, I was elated when a few minutes after polling precincts were closed, I witnessed the announcement of winners in the precinct level! When I went home, the television stations were also receiving transmissions and were announcing them as it came. When I woke up the following morning, the nation already had an inkling as to the results, not from some self-serving exit polls.
Days after, as only the politicians would, there are reports of rigging. The news followed every angle, but so far, nothing has been proven. Most are just paranoid calls when the machine breaks down. Of course, the usual violence were there, more of the old and unrelated to the automation.
As to the prosperity of the Philippines, that remains to be seen. After all, politicians will usually fall back to the same old old after elections. Now if only we could automate them...

Yes it was successful, problems encountered were minor and mostly due to the new system introduced to the people which they are not familiar with. I am positive that we will have a better result of election and the Philippines will start to prosper again
