Philippines, a big OVEN...

Summer supposed to be fun, fun, fun! But I'm not enjoying it. The heat is exaggerated like I am in a big oven. And it is even worse that the fan cannot even contribute in decreasing the heat.

My wife was born and raised in the Philippines. She got here in New York in March. The first thing she said she felt like she was in a giant freezer. Since then, she good use to New York changing seasons......The extreme cold....and crazy heat. A few years ago, we went to visit her family in the Philippines......She said she had forgotten how hot it is there.......when we got back, is got sick.... Yea, the Philippines is very hot......I liked it, I can't wait to go back....

You liked the hot weather of Philippines? While me, I hate it so much. Anyway, it's good thing to know that you're wife is a Filipina. What can you say to a Filipina? :D Well I hope I can also go to other states and feel the cold weather there.

I totally agree with you and yet my face becomes too oily as well because of too much heat. Even the fan can't contribute the decreasing of heat but it depends on the place as well. In my bedroom I can't actually tolerate being there every afternoon unless if I am going to turn on the air con. But I don't want to do it since it will be just an increase for the electricity bill even the fact that my parents will be the one to pay for it. I am just opening that only for more than 2 hours just to make my room chill but as much as possible I am really lessening it.

YES my face also get oily due to the heat, and it sucks. I need to wash my face over and over again. And yes, I also don't want to open the aircon for long because my parents might blame me for the increase of our bill.

What I really hate about this weather that even at night the climate is still hot. Even at early mornings which is supposed to be cooler is not anymore and I get awoken by it and is really not helping me to sleep better at night at all. Every morning I feel I lack sleep because of this. I could not also turn my Aircon all night since that means I have to pay higher electrical bill as well. I cannot afford to pay higher rates also.

I hate it as well. Whenever I woke up in the morning I thought it is already past twelve in the afternoon. I also lack sleep because I always woke up just to drink water for I might be dehydrated by the heat. And that's right, we can't use the aircon all day long because we don't want to pay higher bill, we can just use it if we're about to sleep for only 2-3 hours. Another thing I hate is whenever I am out for school, you'll really hate the heat while commuting. Well, nothing to worry about because summer is almost over. :)

yeah, we are virtually inside an oven being baked the whole day, we will be well done before the day is over, lol. well, we are living in a tropical country and like it or not, we have to bear this 37+ degrees heat. we are still lucky because in some other places aside from the philippines, heat ranges from 38 to almost 50 degrees C. we cannot live in a swimming pool the whole summer but we have our shower room that can give us refresh anytime we wish to.

yes yes yes, halo-halo these days is quite refreshing. I too am big customer of halo halo were we buy it for 15 pesos in a nearby refreshing stand along the street near uss. sometimes, one glass is not enough for me. anyway, this thing is of course a good way to ease the summer heat. solved.

Fan is useless in this heat. So I am thinking of buying an air cooler. Electricity rate is high today so an air-condition unit is not an option. I really wish summer will end. Looking forward to the rainy season.

@juggerogre, your idea of buying an air cooler is great and very economical against an air condition unit. i too have one and it really helps ease the heat in my room and power consumption is much much lesser. yes, were looking forward to the rainy days to come perhaps in two weeks time.

Global warming is a big problem. But the main cause of the extreme heat is due to illegal acts like illegal logging and over population. We are the big cause of this problem but its never too late to become the big solution n_n.
