I have two dogs in my house and yesterday I found a cat -newborn- out of my house. I thought that maybe I can keep it but I am not sure what will happen with my dogs. Do you know any tricks that I can do to get along my dogs with the cat?

Hi, Funny question. Well, practically it is too tough to keep cats and dogs in one house. You will not be able enjoy any of them.

One of our dogs LOVES our cats, the other tolerates them. I have a friend who's dogs rescued 4 kittens and love them and maybe the cats love the dogs more than her too.

It might not be as hard as you think!!! I have 3 dogs & 2 cats & they get along just fine!!! I suggest you hold the kitten curled up in the palm of your hands & show it to the dogs. If either dog tries to become aggressive, sternly tell it NO. If the dogs don't become aggressive, then try setting the kitten on the floor & watch the dogs closely. Most of the time little kittens don't know dogs are their natural enemy. The dogs will begin by sniffing the kitten. If the kitten hisses at the dogs, sternly tell the kitten NO. Over time the kitten will become friends with the dogs. I had one cat that I brought in a puppy. At first she HATED him & wouldn't let him near her. Within a week or so, every time he whimpered, she came running to see what was wrong. Within 2 weeks, they were playing together. I fed them together Only problem I had was that every time the dog put his head in my lap, the cat would jump in my lap & curl up as if to say "she's MY Mommy". I think you may just well find out the dogs will become very friendly & protective of the baby. It won't be long before you'll be showing pictures of the kitten curled up & sleeping with the dogs. I would watch them real close for the first week as you may need to scold one or the other!!! Good luck with the process & I hope you enjoy the new addition to your family!!!!

I had the same problem too but then I simply let them all together while watching them though. I put the cats first and then the dogs and slowly by slowly I try to give them their food at the same place, it was really difficult at first but then gradually I got them together, the dogs will try to approach the cats first and the cats in their leisure time will draw themselves near the dog to sort of playing with them.
