Do you use a primer?

Hi everyone! So as we all know, make-up can't really last the whole day without us using special products. And I read from many magazines that a primer somehow holds the makeup in place. Do you use one and what brand? I also know that some liquid foundation does hold the makeup as well, I'm just not sure if a primer offers more. What do you guys think?

I don't too but I think it's better to put so that you don't have to reapply often throughout the day.

Yes, absolutely. For a face primer I use Make-Up Forever's HD primer (in a green tint, to help even out reddish undertones of my skin. I also use a lid primer anytime I wear eyeshadow. My favorites are Too Faced's Shadow Insurance or Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin. Both with brighten up any eyeshadow application, and UD's makes it bit more iridescent. I almost never use a foundation - I've found that highlighter's like Benefit's High Beam work better by bringing out your good features instead of covering flaws like foundations do.

Oh! I forgot about Make-Up Forever. Thanks for the green tint, I'm having red undertones lately as well.

Yes I do use a makeup primer and a lid primer. I notice that when wearing primer for the face it really holds your foundation together than when you don't. Using lid primer on the other hand holds your eyeshadow and brings out the color of the shadow. The brands I used are Revlon, Rimmel and Monistat (these is chaffing gel but has been proven to work well as a makeup primer.) For more information please check my profile and go to my website I have written about this topic on my blog.

Thanks for that! I just checked your blog a few minutes ago and I loved your entry about the herbal blemish remedies. Thanks for your opinion by the way. :)

I see a lot of makeup artists using makeup primer on both the eyes and the face. It seems to bring out fabulous color in the eyes, and the foundation seems to cover better, as if to smooth the working surface. Thanks for posting!

I dont wear as much make up as I used to. At the moment I dont wear one and I wouldnt know where to start. I did however get a makeover by an American brand in a department store and they used a primer which went quite nice.
