Hi friends: I have watched last week the remake of the movie A Nightmare on Elm Street and I felt disappointed. For me the main characters were weak, they werelike, just waiting for Freddy to his work and that's not what I expected. Even if it has nice special effects this doesn't make a good movie, we need a good plot, strong characters, good lines, etc. I think that the best actor for this movie Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger even if he's not Robert Englund. And finally, I don't like new Krueger's design. So my qualification for the movie would be 2/5. And how about you: did you love or hate A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)?

After seeing the movie I found it hard to get sleep that night..feared if Krueger would come..
After hearing your review I think they spoiled the name of the first one...
Anyway will try to see it ,thanks
Happy myLotting...

Hi sagar and cream: I have to admit that I don't like horror films but my brother invite me to watch it and I can't deny this invitation. Lol. XD. I was a fan of Freddy Kruegers films and tv specials when I was just a kid and it scares me as hell but this haven't happend this time. I found the characters lame in my opinion. Well, thanks for your answers. Have a nice day.

HI mhekhies16: In my case I thought the film has the potential to be as good as the first film but it's almost a rule that, every sequel it's not as good as the previous one. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

HI cream: I hope this doesn't disappointed you but I think that the original film its better than the new one. I think that they simply abuse of the special effects and that the director should create a better psychological drama around the characters and not the easy one of "Oh, I'm afraid, Freddy will appear and will kill me by surprise". Thanks for sharing with us your opinion. Have a nice day.

I haven't seen the movie yet but my boyfriend would like us to see it so we'll probably watch it soon. I'm not really a fan of horror films but I'll just go along with my bf because this is what he enjoys watching. Thanks for the review. I hope he finds it enjoying so as not to disappoint him. haha.

Hi goddes jes: In a scale of 1 to 10 I will give it a 5 which means: nice effects, shocking scenes that will make you feel scared for a minute but terrible plot and the victims are not natural, they weren't able to express the emotions of the victims of this "Nightmare". Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

Out of the 9 Elm Street films (Including Wes Craven's New Nightmare and Freddy Vs. Jason) I would rank this about 4th or 5th in the series. It was an okay film, but my main issues came from the changes they made to the characters and the original backstory of Freddy coupled with the fact that almost all of the dream sequences were essentially the same as each other in the film. I felt it had a lot of potential to be better than the original and they messed it up.

Hi Jaluke I think the same. Actually I agree with you- all the nightmares look just the same and I think that the director want to scares the public in the easy way. At the same time they have changed the story behind Freddy, they were not even faithful to the original film which is better because we can understand Freddy's psycophatic disorder. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.

I've seen the original Nightmare on Elm Street movie and having seen that, I don't see the reason that I would need to see the remake. It has always been my experience that the remakes are never nearly as good as the original movies. Besides that, I don't think that they need to remake the classics and I refuse to be a patron of the remade movies because that would mean that I am endorsing them, which I won't do.

There are a few remakes which IMO have been better than the original film. The Hills Have Eyes is the most shining example and, while it is up for debate, I personally enjoy the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake more than the original. As for A Nightmare On Elm Street, the original is better. From what I've seen of Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street and from what I've read about Friday the 13th (I didn't see the remake), the three 80s horror icon remakes are lesser films than their originals.

Hi dorannmwin: I agree with you. My conclution would be that almost all the remakes are not as good as the original. It's not easxy to captivate the original spirit of a film I think. Thanks for your answer. Have a nice day.
