I don't think Education is a watse of time. Without it we would be ignorant about everything, even simple things we would not understand! I do find that "early" education, especially in my country *(UK), is terrible, from age 5 to 8, you are not taught much in school at all, in the first year of school we play mainly, yes we learn the alphabet and how to count to 20 and so on, but other than that, we don't learn anything until we get to around 8 years old! Whereas in other countries, children learn to speak English by the time they are 5 years old!!!! Whereas most people in this country cannot speak another language!!!! I think we should make education more worth while, it costs such a lot of money to fund the UK education system, what with the shcools themselves, teachers funding etc, and it costs tax payers millions a year, and for what? For 3 years for children to leanr very very little! I think we should learn from countries in Western Europe (France, Germany, Spain, Italy) where children are taught other languages and worthwhile things from the word go!!! High school here (age 11 to 16) is quite good, but one thing which gets to me is that we HAVE to do everything for the first 3 years of school, no matter what. My brother now HAS to do a class called Textiles where he makes clothes and bags and learns to sew. He hates it, and because of that he is terrible at it. If he had the choice he would exchange this class with an extra Geography or Maths class. I think the basic classes, English, Maths, Science, and a Language should be compulsary, as well as Physical Education- but the rest you should be able to choose from a list of classes, as there are many people who dont enjoy a class and so they mess around ruining it for those who DO enjoy it!!! In that way, education is a waste of time, but without it, we would never be able to progress! :)

Education is never a waste of our time... its just that we need it to improve everything in our life not only ourselves but to also those things around us. Whatever we have now... it is the result how hard we work or study. There are some person who was born to be lucky but to those who are not... we should study a lot to have position in this big wide and huge world.. If we know nothing.. then were also nothing in this world.

Education is a lifelong process. We are constantly learning new skills, knowledge etc. Sometimes you may feel that you didn't get what you wanted, but at least you are a little wiser. You never know when your knowledge and skills will come in useful. I think that people can be disappointed if they don't receive the rewards they expect from learning. It's very difficult for those who are studying for qualifications in the hope that it will lead to a job. Unfortunately there are not enough jobs to go around at the present time. I can understand their disappointment. As for those who think education is a waste of life and time, those who have never tried it are hardly in a position to provide the most informed comments, are they?
