How much does it cost where you live to see a movie at the theater? I have lived in multiple towns/cities/states and I find that the prices really range. What I don't understand is why ticket prices are SO high. It literally costs almost $10 for a movie ticket here and I don't live in any big city. But if you travel to a neighboring town you can go to an old , restored theater for $3 matinee or $5.50 any other time. The place we use to live had a dollar theater, which was awesome! They would get movies that were about a month old, but if you could be patient and wait to see a movie it was totally worth it!! On Tuesdays they even did $1 sodas and popcorn too. Very awesome! So what are the movie theaters like where you live??

Movie prices at the theaters around here are between $11.50 and $12.00. So now the only time we go to the movies is when I earn free movie tickets from different survey sites that I belong to.

I agree - by the time you pay JUST for 2 people to see the movie you could purchase the stinkin blue ray when it comes out. lol

Movie theaters in my area are relatively expensive. It costs 8 dollars to see a movie for one person, and 5 dollars for a drink alone. If you want food, you'll need to bring even more money. That brings it to about 30 dollars per person if you get candy as well, which the prices could get to 4 dollars. If you have a group of people, it could easily add up to over 200 dollars, so I wouldn't advise paying for everyone to go to the movies! We also have an old theater, and that one is pretty awesome. You can get drinks, a movie, and popcorn, for the price of a ticket at another! And it normally plays at least one movie that is in the theaters and popular each day, and has an old one in the other theater.

An interesting topic my friend. Well, going movies was one of my favorite thing to do speaking of relaxation moments. But, that was long when I was a bachelor yet. I never care how much was the movie ticket before. When I got married already that hobby was abruptly gone....why? For me, it is already a waste of money, I would rather save it or buy anything that everyone of us (family) could benefit. I would never say I wouldn't go anymore for a movie but it depends on our budget...I don't even know anymore how much the current price of movie ticket here in our country. More or less it is already $5? For me that's already a waste of money when you don't have really a budget... Thanks my friend...have a good day.. Mobhomeir here...

Movie theaters have raised there prices so much in the last couple years that it hasnt been worth it to go to see the movies... we actually stopped going when they went over 7.00 a ticket... but last I heard if you go after 6pm then you pay premium price and that is like any where from 8.50 to 9.50 a ticket depending on the theater you go to... but if you go before 6 pm then you pay matinee and that is 4.50 a ticket and much more worth it. the concession stands are so pricey that I always took my bigger purses and we bought our snacks before hand and would sneak our stuff in... I heard that the popcorn alone was a 400% price markup so to me I could do without that...we actually would go to the dollar store and buy the big boxes of junior mints or swedish fish and take those instead. I went to the movies a few weeks ago, it was a matinee and my mom treated a bunch of us to the movie for a girls day out... but before that it had been 3 yrs since I was at a movie theater.... Happy Mylotting!!

approximately $4 dollars more or less. $1 for large drink and $2 for a popcorn and and i live in a 3rd world country. this is why theaters here are so empty. if they go to a pirate dvd shop they can buy a movie ofr less than %.50 and not just one can watch it. and they are asking why pirated dvds are so rampant.
