I am curious how many of us MyLotters are surviving on unemployment and what all tricks we are using and doing to survive the best way we can on a day to day basis. How desperate are we getting? How many of us now pay attention to what Congress is voting on in terror that suddenly we wont be able to claim more weeks of our extensions? And those that can no longer claim unemployment: How have you been able to survive?

i lost my job since october of last year due to absentism i was having a risky pregnancy that time so i need to rest more and i decided to choose my baby than my work. but then god was so nice to me that i able to find income online though might not big but enough for my internet bills thats why i able to online since its also my one way to avoid boredom, when it comes to lodging and foods then i have no problem with it coz i stay in my sister house for free with free foods and all, i only pay for my prenatal checkup, prenatal vitamins including anmum milk and my own internet connection and all of those expenses are coming from my earnings online. though right now, i dont know why but im become so tried day by day and that i only visit mylot and facebook to play, maybe i become so tired with other money making site that turned into scam with all of my investment. i still have savings enough till i give birth and i got that money still from online income

You are doing very good then, especially with the family you have to rely on!

yes your right, im just thankful to have family whose willing to help me even though all of them already have their own family and they are kind enough to not even let me do anything while im living with my sister, i have nothing to do but sleep, eat and internet, they dont want me to move coz im pregnant. im the youngest anyway out of 8 so im really lucky. though i still managed to pay my own pregnancy expenses without asking money from them. thats why im thankful with internet coz i earn some from it while avoiding being bored while at home.

I worked as a private school teacher last school year. I resigned from it because of the very low salary they are offering. Since I have already a license in teaching, I decided to apply in a public school. Public school offers more and I can say that although it is hard to be a teacher in public school, the salary and the benefits they are offering is worth it.I am now unemployed but I am trying to do my best to still get money. I have been working online since I resigned from my work. I am doing encoding jobs in the morning and evening. I participate here in mylot every now and then. I also write on sites like Bukisa and Triond. I always do my best in every online job so I can have a good amount of money afterwards. One of your respondents answered that creativity is one thing that you must consider to survive in being unemployed. I agree with that. You must be creative to have some income. In addition with that, once you earned money, spend it wisely. Life is very hard nowadays to use money in ways which are not so important. Save money for the future. Invest it on a business. Those are just my suggestions in order to cope with the crisis we are experiencing.
