Hi, I'm doing some research and writing on Solar Powered lights and I am interested in a couple of things. First, what are your biggest questions about buying and using solar powered lights? Second, have you bought or used solar powered lights and if so were you happy with the result? Why or why not? What do you think are the benefits of using solar powered lights? Thanks, Jill

ok as my father is in the electricity department of my country i hope i give a valuable advise,, yes i have used solar power lights and i m happy with the results.as my country has a good long summer season so it creates a lot of electricity.. why you should use solar power lights?? the most simple answer is by this you can save the planet and of course ur electricity bills the most info in respect cost and bill saving(all the money matters is as follows) i think in most of the countries the initial investment in solar panels is high. but if u think of long term use..in bright days u can make electricity more than ur requirements..so u can even sell it to the grid.. it can work good in winter too as if its making less energy..u cant forget the fact that we also consume less energy in winters..so it balances the whole thing. solar panels have later investments too..like in some years u will have to change the battery of the storage plant..but still u save some of the bills and even the earth.. one more thing that noone thinks of--when u use solar lights on the roof it shades the whole roof area and stops heat to the rooms--which in turn again saves energy so my thoughts on this topic are..that solar lights is goooooood!!!!

I think the biggest questions i would have about solar powered lights are about the costs and quality. I would like to buy cheap ones with good quality so that i can use the lights for a long time. I would be saving from getting solar powered lights because the cost of utility in my country(Micronesia) is relatively high right now. Also solar power is environmentally friendly than the other types of energy.

Using solar powered devices really is nature-friendly and lets you save money. There are different kinds of solar-powered gadgets that is becoming popular now. From solar phones to solar chargers. I think Solar-powered lights will be useful for those buildings who uses large amounts of electricity even it is daytime. But for the typical people inside their homes will be using the sunlight to brighten their house. Solar powered light wont be useful during nighttime because there's no sun. I think it would be better if there's a battery for that light, which will be charged during daytime and will be used at nighttime.

I have looke into the option of using solar energy for our house. Not for the entire house because I know that will be very expensive. I was thinking that I could first start with using solar panels for the airconditioning or refs because they are the ones who crank up our electricity bill. Unfortunately this technology is not yet commercialized in the Philippines so if I am to pursue it then I would have to import the materials. The solar powered lights are more accessible. I found a Chinese company doing wholesale for different solar powered lights. I'm looking into buying a few pieces and test it on our garden.
