Good health gives us control over and add quality to our lives. Health is wealth and yet we truly don't appreciate it until it's gone. I felt so sad yesterday when my friend who is still in his late thirties was forced to retire from his work because he is always off sick and cannot fulfill his duties. He can no longer provide for his wife who is a housewife and two school going children. After his marriage, he abused his health by drinking alcohol, smokes cigarretes and engaged in gambling. He lost heavily in gambling and had to auction his house.I really felt so sorry for him and his family and would help them to my best of ability. Health is one of those things that most people tend to take for granted until facing disease or injury. But why should we wait! Have you ever wonder what your life is like if you no longer have good health? Do you think good health is important?

I agree that health is the utmost important asset of our life. Without good health, everything else in our life is meaningless. In order to maintain good health, correct attitude and positive mindset are the essential elements required. Without good attitude and the right mindset to value out health, it's difficult keep our body healthy. Therefore, I think your friend need to change his perception towards his habit and lifestyle in order to keep his health and his wealth.

My friend was a very hardworking executive salesman. He travelled frequently and entertained his clients. Consequently, he became addicted to smoking as well as gambling. His wife had occasionally noticed lipstick stains on his collar but she kept silence about it. I've always advised him to adopt healthy lifestyle whenever we meet. Unfortunately, he only realised the importance of good health now that he is diagnosed with a chronic disease and jobless. Cheongyc(2158) is right. It would have made a difference in his life if he had value good health, strong mentality, adopting right mindset and positive attitudes earlier. He can still reprogram his mind and start a new life however, it would be a challenge now that he is diseased and during this period of reccesion, getting a job will be a problem. I am sure no one would like to encounter such a situation or worst scenerio to realise the importance of good health and value health as much as life itself.

Your friend is very unfortunate because he had sacrificed his health for his career. But it's really ironic that our career won't sacrifice itself for our health. That's why our health should be one of our top priorities in life. Well, it's true that if he had valued healthy lifestyle earlier, he won't get himself into troubles. I hope he can recover soon and get better with your help. I didn't realize the importance of exercise and keeping good health until my 30's. I hope it isn't too late to start practicing healthy diet and regular exercise from now on.
