Stress is one of the silent assassins today. According to research many sickness have a common denominator and guess what, stress! although stress can be positive in some ways, because it is our body's way of saying "stop and rest", but due to increasing need and demands of life, people tend to forget to rest and have turned a working machine, which would lead to many illness due to stress. let us work wisely my fellow loters.

I admit at the age of 30 I still don't know what stress really means. I am from the Philippines and English is my native language. Kindly please help me know what's the real meaning of stress?

My professor in psychology used to say that there's a positive stress. I don't know what that is because I wasn't able to listen to her discussions with regards to that. Anyway, school gives me too much stress. I can barely eat because I have to go to school too early and my classes are straight and I don't have breaks. I also have o sleep late at night just to finish our exercises and quizzes.

I believe that stress could really affect our health and well being. Just like you, I experience stress from time to time. That's why we have to have effective ways in relieving stress to restore our inner peace and physical health. There are a lot of stress relievers actually. I do walking, meditating and unwinding to help relieve my stresses. Have a nice day

Hi Joan and welcome to mylot! If stress is a firebell in our body, I guess the only way it can serve us is by listening to it. If you dont listen to a firebell and stay in the building on fire, you die anyway. But this socety does not let us listen to that. It will fight against the voices, calling us lazy or mediochre. I always thought that machines would keep us away from slavery and give us some leisure time. But it isn´t so. It´s a pity and there doesn´t seem to be a way out.
