no gaRage, no car issuance Policy.....

how will you walk when cars are on your way? - i don't have anything against owning a car, multiple cars. My main concern is, the disturbance, the pollution, and the responsibility...Park your cars on your garage please..

I don't have a car yet. But I'm planning to buy for my family in the near future. I am just getting worried by this nagging question in my head. Is having a car garage a requirement in owning a car? I hate cars being parked on the streets! Why do they are being issued cars where they don't even have their own parking lot/parking garage? My main concern is, cars are accumulating and it worries me that someday there are more cars than people! I want to have a walkable city, a walkable neighborhood. I don't want anymore to bump into a honda civic parked outside when I am trying to walk my dog or just simply jogging. Am i being ridiculous? Is this gonna happen? Is is doable? How about you? Do you think that before issuing cars, they should first check if you have your own garage? So that you don't have to park it on the street? I need your views about it. It seems that I worry about it a lot.=( For someone who already have a car, where do you park it?

My mom's car is park outside our house too. I don't think having no car port or garrage should stop anybody from buying own car... it should not be the hinderance, especially if car is really needed... There is not law also that prohibiting people from owning a car if ther is not hause garrage... I think that is not just at all... Parking your own car in front of your house is okay as long as you park it properly...

Hi lovelyn, good point. It should be implemented, I believe. Should also be a law. It is not being fair or so, but why buy a car where you can't even be responsible of providing a place where you can put it, safely? Parking in front of the house is not okay, for the owner of the car, and for the people walking in the street. Would you like to bump into a car when you are walking at night?

well, it's a lovely thing to wish for. but it might be quite a nightmare to implement.. some may even call it discrimination against certain people to not allow them to drive without first showing they've got a garage to keep their car in it's a great idea. if implementing it is possible, i'd put my support into it

yes dear, you are right. Specially to those people who are narrowminded. What is wrong with having first your own garage before buying a car? It's not for the purpose of discrimination but should be a law, it is for your own good too right? After all, it is an obligation of the car owner to take care of the car. Parking it on the street is not a good idea because you have to worry, someone may stole it, scratch it or broke it.

it is cool to have your own garage before getting your car. it'll be nice to keep our vehicles safe & sound from naughty people in the streets.. but governments tend to look at the bigger picture, from en economic standpoint when it comes to issues like this..simply put, it'll be something like this: increase car sales means that the people have increased credit and more credit to spend, which means car manufacturers & factory workers & distributors & car sales companies have more money to employ more people, which means that more people will earn, which mean that there are more taxes coming in for the government.. and translates into a better overall economic atmosphere for the country. car sales has been the proverbial 'economic barometer' of sorts for countries throughout the world. if there is anything that would hinder or slow down the sales of motor vehicles, governments will come out with new policies to overcome it and ensure that there will always be a growth in the volume of sold cars. another problem is public transportation/city transit systems... well, that is a whole different discussion in itself there a alot of good ideas out there. but current necessity doesn't make it easy to implement those ideas. until our governments can be truly forward thinking in their methods (not just thinking 2 years ahead, but planning for way much more further into the future), then there will be some mark improvements that we'll be able to see

hi neh357 I dont have a car nor do I drive. b ut when we did we usually had a garage but a lot of places in Southern California have carports inside of garages which really are just about as good, just a roof and two walls but thats okay for most people. Here in Southern Ca its a toss up whether or nothere are more cars than people. I know lots of families have several cars but also we have a lot of people here too. I would not worry about it til I actually get a car myself.lol lol lol.

That is good to know. Hahaha, I guess I worry too much about this place I am living in. I really hate walking in the street where there is no space to walk! Like in my neighborhood, people park their cars outside, double parking, the worst. I just don't have a choice but to walk at the center of the street, making me vulnerable to all car accident I may think of. I only I can tell them not to park it there. (sigh)

Hiya neh, At the moment we have a Garage an underground one so the headache of parking is not our problem at the moment. Where we live we have People who park their Mobile Caravans in the Street for months on end making it almost impossible for you to find a space right away then we have three local Colleges where lot´s of People go to study so that´s an even bigger headache as they all park their Cars anyway and whichever way they can. So if you work a long way from your Home it would be better to find yourself a Garage a bit more expense for you yes but think of all the Petrol you waste going round and round trying to find a parking spot especially if you come home tired and worn out. Good luck with your Car and your efforts.

Hiya neh, Neh I would just buy the Car try and find a decent place to park whatever it can be and take the rest as it comes. For me there would be nothing worse than to find the amount of traffic I found yesterday and having no where to park my Car and this happened so we came back towards home but found a better place to go to in the end. The Cars were even parked on the Pavements so that tells you everything. Our public Transport is slow sometimes the routes are where no one wants them to go and so on. No wonder People need a Car to go to work in.

that is not so nice really, parking cars on the street. Why do you have to own a car where you cannot even own your own garage? I agree that you waste your petrol in going to and fro, i think that establishments should also have a spacious parking space, so as not to have a very smoky environment when all cars have to find their way out. Warm regards, lovinangelsinstead21. =)

I think the issue is if you need a car or not. When you live somewhere that there is no public transportation and you need to get to places, you will value having your car running and reliable. Having a garage is a good thing to protect your investment in transportation, but is not a must.

Presumably, you need to have a car. The problem is, you don't have your own garage to park it and you know that it will only turn out you are going to park in the street where suppose to be, a place to walk, would you still buy your car? My option would be to have first my garage, for the purpose of my cars protection, and for the clean and safe street. After all, I would'nt want my car to be scratched.

if you need to get around, you have choices, either use public transportation, walk, get a ride with someone. One way or another you will make do. If you are able to afford getting a car, this will solve many transportation issues and enable you to make a living and accomplish much more in your plans. Many reasons can affect your car's condition and cosmetics. It is normal to have your car exposed to the environment; regardless you are likely to exercise caution about parking places. So as it is reality, its very likely your car will go on scratch free for years. I have managed that so I am a genuine witness of such success. You can get your car garage first if you chose, but if you can't generate enough money to pay for it then it will sure serve you as your new apartment. LOL

I hate people who buy a car and ye they don't have a garage to park the car on. More often i see cars being park on the roadside overnight which basically function as their private parking area. IN the process, worsen traffic in the area. I don't have a car and i don't intend to buy one since i don't have a car garage.

Definitely agree. And making this place a not so nice place to walk. Grr, I just don't see a point of buying one where it would turn out to be a burden to people. very selfish for those who have a car who are parking it on the street, and very inconsiderate. (sigh)

Mostly it depends upon your surroundings. If you can manage the car without a park lot, go for the car first. And you are very particular for the parking space, find a better one and go for the car. The problem is solved. Regards, Thank-s

Yes it is a requirement to have a parking space in your house before you could buy one but this policy is being neglected. When I bought my first car in 1995, I was asked if I have a parking space and I don't have one so I thought I could not buy one but the agent told me not to worry because he will just talk to the inspector and voila problem solve. If you will park your car outside your house, you have to take the risk of it being stolen or scratched or vandalized. So better provide a parking space before you buy your dream car.

that agent is not concerned about the environment. tsk, tsk. I'm not going to buy my car if my house isn't completed yet, and yes, a garage will be provided because i don't want to contribute in my own agony of a narrow street.
