Hi! Even iam a Facebook fan. I believe Facebook has done all the required advancements and developments time to time even before we think about the need of it all. But still i can see twitter holds the growing popularity despite of its technological weaknesses. What is so specifically attracting people to it, why is twitter becoming so popular when compared to Facebook? Have you ever thought of this amazing issue? I have been noticing this for a long time. This was pricking my mind every time. Let me see if i get some good and reasonable answers to this question??

Maybe because twitter is so easy to use. User friendly and basic functionality. Unlike facebook you have to learn it to see its features.

As a web programmer and online publisher, Twitter is more useful for me than Facebook. I think this is true for most publishers as well. Twitter is more popular than Facebook because Twitter is a "component" web service. This means webmasters can add/incorporate Twitter services (or maybe just the Twitter links) to blogs or publications. And as a component, webmasters can create as many accounts (whether for a person or service) as needed. And take note, Twitter accounts need not be popular to be useful. Facebook is also practically identified with a particular person. Unless the person is famous, there is no reason to reference the Facebook account. The account therefore is useless. Right now, I have 25+ Twitter accounts and I only have one Facebook account. And every one of my Twitter accounts are referenced in my blogs and each Twitter account track/announce the links to my blog posts. So far, my Facebook is just doing nothing for me.

Of course, to the end-user who is not doing any online publishing, Facebook is more useful. They won't even consider using Twitter.

Twitter is, as many of my fellow mylotters said, simple and easy to use. Loads up with a slow connection too. Lightweight and easy to update. Since its kinda of extension of SMS to web, we are restricted to put our thoughts within 140 chars.. that strengthens our hold on the language too . and there is nothing much to worry about. Wall , pages, notes.. where to update.. and all. Wanna shout out to the world .. just tweet. that simple..

maybe because of its simplicity. facebook has alot of applications and other features. twitter on the other hand, is so simple as you only post short messages and can do it anytime of the day.

I signed on twitter first but I used facebook more often because I could connect to most of my friends and families, even my previous officemates and co-teachers, they are all using facebook. Well twitter is becoming more popular because a lot of people is using this in their internet marketing and many claims that it works.

Both are good services.. Its the taste of people to select either of the one or both..

Twitter is very fast and easy to use. Besides Facebook, I am a big fan of Twitter..between those two, I've joined Twitter first, so it has a special connection with me for sure.

Hi friend!! I am on twitter for a very long time... I like that site..Its all about sharing your views, opinions, or what or how you feel in a particular moment.Through twitter you can communicate with people and share a exclusive photo that you had captured. In think,it is much more interesting than facebook. It is very user-friendly and the layout is also very easy. Above all,one comes to know about the whereabouts of different celebs, whom they are following. I am not at all so frequent in the Facebook, but certainly I like to be on Facebook.Frankly speaking,I am quiet new to Facebook,so I cannot feel any addiction right now..As a beginner I find it a bit complicated. In fact,I heard many things about this site and most of my old friends have joined fackbook in the recent time and so it is becoming the only way to stay in touch with this friends..I like using some social networking sites, especially the Facebook, to say in touch with the people whom I know personally and are not so near to me at this moment.. Apart from it,I also play Farmville,it is a silly game, though, and do a lots of chatting. But I just follow some norms, just to maintain some ambiguity as other unknown users of this sites may cause trouble,if I disclose all my facts. In Twitter you don't really have this problem.

alot more celeberties are on twitter, but I like facebook because facebook is easier to reconnect with family and friends. I have come across close to 200 people that I went to school and that my family went to school with. So, it's been alot more fun connecting that way than just texting telling people what you are doing. It just depends on what you like to do.

Well, I guess facebook is not user friendly at first but as you learn thoroughly you will find it easy and it has a lot of applications such as games, chats and photo/video tagged. As you can see, I'm a facebook user too.. not actually a fan though. And now I gonna try to understand twitter bacause it is popular in America. You should try exploring too because everything is changing as time goes by. :)

user-friendliness, easy layout, communicate with friends. People go to facebook to play, but older people go to twitter to communicate. Facebook now is mainly about playing.

i think it's because twitter is much easier to use and i'm beginning to abandon my facebook account since i have less things to do there. in twitter, i like how you can see the trending topics and their "retweet" button. and it's easier to see the posts you were tagged in. unlike in facebook, too much notifications. it's kinda irritating. for example, when you "like" a post of a friend, and then you'll regret it later because sometimes they do chat there and what, i'll be receiving tons of notification. though i still love facebook and still using it to share photos or anything.
