if someone stole my traveler checks can they use them? is there any way they can be stopped or traced

anyone can use someone else's traveler's cheques. if your cheques have been lost or stolen cancel them IMMEDIATELY. call the company (amex or whoever) and they can cancel them as long as you still have the serial number (that piece of paper they tell you to keep seperate from your cheques) they can issue you new ones for the same amount.
