Hello lotters, Yesterday afternoon, there was maintenance here but we were not informed. because of that i had to wait hours before i could take a bath imagine hours of being a stink-o i guess water is more important than electricity. not having water completely screws up regular days. how does it feel like not having water in your home for hours? Have a great day. PS: we got water back:D

I could stand rotating brown outs, but not "No water". It's so hot these days that I would want to take a bath every now and then. I don't like the sticky feeling.

True. I could well manage the 'no electricity' because we usually just store iced water and use that a lot during the hours without electricity. But I don't think I could bear no water. Good thing though that we have installed a huge reservoir for our home with water which could last us about maximum 4days.

Yes, we have so many ways to solve the problem in electric power, like we can use candle or kerosene lamp to light up our homes, improvised cooking stoves to cook our meals, flat iron that doesn't use electricity, transistor radios for our entertainment and news, and so on and so forth. But water, oh my gosh, what shall we do without? Even if we deep in the comfort of a swimming pool, river and lakes, we still need water in our daily lives. We need it to cook our foods, drinking, and of course, flush our toilet, water the plants that usually need a lot of water during summer. Oh yeah, it really stinks without water. Good day.

i cann't imagine what would happen if no water supply. water supply is very important and indespensible to your ordinary life. we have to use water to cook, drink, washing and so on.i guess when water suplly is scarce for a week, there are some disasters would happen like diseases and famine.

Oh in my place I have not experience anything of that problem at all. Living here in San Juan is somewhat immuned to that. In all those days that says problem in water we here in San Juan never experience anything like that. Our water is always strong and never did we feel that the pressure went down or not.

that thing happened to us last week. the water was cut but luckily it happened at night and they say that the water will come back around 4am. since summer that was the first time the water was cut in our area. but even we didnt experience we still save water on containers for it is hard when you have a child that is young yet and there is no water. good for you the water is back. you can now have another bath.

I'm so glad to hear that your water is back on. I can only imagine what it's like to have to wait for water. I've never been without it. When I lived in a city, they turned the water off once to repair the pipes under the streets but I was at work when that happened so it didn't affect me. You certainly are correct about it being more important than electricity! We can light candles or turn on battery-powered lamps but there's no replacing water. I hope, if they ever need to do maintenance again, that they'll give you enough notice so you can take your bath before it happens.

Yes we need water more than electricity, water is for drinking, it can be a food and we can't wash out body, clothes and other things without it. We need to have water. Some when the electricity is out, they also don't have water, but in my place there is water we can still use even if it is brownout. I will choose water over electricity.

Well to tell you the truth, I've almost never had to deal with it. Just once or twice for a few hours while something was being repaired. I was without electricity for a while after an earthquake, but again, not long enough for it to be a problem.

It reminds of the time my husband tried to fix a tap on the laundry and we ended up with no water for three hours! We had come home from work and had not yet showered, we had dinner so there was a huge pile of dishes on the sink, he goes and messes with the tap and we had to wait for an after hours plumber to fix the problem which all in all took around three hours! Having no water is worse than anything. You can obtain light from candles if the electricity fails but there is nothing you can use to replace water!

Water scarcity happened some four or five years back in our town and then I realized the importance of water. The municipal water is not sufficient and the bore water was no more.We had to buy water and that too was on demand.Yes,we can live without electricity but not without water.I remember on that time, a day where I had to bathe only in the evening.

fortunately we have people which around to sell water, so when we really need we buy it even though the water price more expensive than usual. Electricity a lot of uses but is not comparable with our interests require water.

I am going through this very same thing right now. I just jumped in the shower and the water was shut down. I can only hope it comes on soon so I can go to my friends for dinner. I won't leave without a bath! I feel so grimey and smelly.

hi letran the only time Ihad a situation like that was back when we lived in El Dorado gardens. They were redoing the road outside our complex with huge earh movers and the whole bit.I had walked to the circle K store to make a small purchase. On my way back I noticed this stream of water flowing down the road past mysidewalk, then heard a worker screaming at the others,"I told you not to dig down that far, you fools, you just broke the water main for this side of tustin."OH yes,I got into my apartment and went to fix my lunch, no water, not one drop. darn . I called the water company and was told an unfortunate accident had happened on Newport ave close to your apartments. it will be three hours before you will have water again. So I had a frozen dinner instead of cooking and my shower I wanted to take had to wait. when they did get the water back on I had to run it for a good twenty five to thirty minutes before I could use it,it was full of sand and grit, yuck. But outside of that incident I have never had any problems with the water here in Garden Grove now.

I know the feeling because I've had to do without water for several hours. Lightning struck my water heater in September 2009 and it was rough. I started a discussion about it, as a matter of fact. I had jury duty to go to that day and I'm sure glad I wasn't picked to serve because I needed to be home. I thought the plumber might come while I was gone. He didn't come until later that day, though, and I was glad. I think water is probably more important than electricity. You just don't realize how much you take things like this for granted until you have to do without them. I'm glad you got your water back on.

you're still lucky cos you just had to endure a few hours of not having water. a couple of weeks ago we did not have water for 5 whole days! apparently the water pump that was servicing our area was struck by lightning and burned. to be fair the water district was going house to house delivering water but it was such a bother cos we did not know what time they would come and we had to wait and make sure we had enough water containers for them to fill up. then we had to haul water pail by pail into the house when we wanted to take a bath etc.
