Most expensive coffee made from animal poop. Will you drink it?

The world's most expenssive coffee sells for around $100 to $600 per pound and it is made from the poop of an animal called the Civet Cat found in some Asian countries like Indonesia.
The coffe is called kopi luwak from the words 'kopi' which is the Indonesian word for cofee and 'luwak' which is the local name of the animal who eats the raw cofee beans. The Civet's stomach only digests the other part of the coffee cherry then poops the rest which is then harvested to be sold as the 'most expensive coffe.'
Knowing that the coffee is made from poop, does it matter if it's the most expenssive coffee? Will you drink it?
Personally, I'd like to try.

Hi there, here in the Philippines especially in the Northern regions, they have this type of coffee that is made from the poop of the Civet cat.
The civet cat is a very keen animal that it only eats the berries which are of highest quality. I think the seeds are eliminated from their body and that's what they use to make the coffee.
I haven't really researched on how it is actually done but they do say that it is not as dirty as it seems because first, they only take the undigested seeds, and such animal eats nothing else but coffee berries.
I also heard about a certain coffee mixed with the poo of the goat.
If I get adventurous, I might really wanna try it.

hahahaah. it is all in the mind. I WOULD also give it a try, if one of my friends recommends. .. and, as you have put it very presentably.. The MORE the COST.. the more attractive and juicy the dish becomes.. who bothers where it is made of?
don't you know that certain medicines and certain vaccines are made in a more disgusting way?

.. and, what do you say, when people spend thousands of dollars to get that musk=== the natural one, into their shelves and hands?

No, definitely not,yuck!!! Besides i am not that crazy about coffee that i will spend so much money on something that will go into my tummy and out after some time.I know about the civet cat having read about it but this is news to me that coffe is made out of seeds found in its poop.Whatever it is i don`t have that kind of money to spend on something wasteful.Cheers.

veejay. this just reminded me about another topic, where the famous NICHOLAS CAGE .. the hollywood actor, told some reporter that he eats such food, non vegetarian... keeping in view the mating habits of the creatures. He is said to have a distaste on pigs, because of the dirt they are involved in. lols..

No. Not because its made from poop. I'm quite sure its already safe to drink. But because of its price. Too expensive for me for a cup of coffee.

they usually wash it and such not make coffee from the raw poop.
i have tried a cheaper version and it is good. coffee shouldnt be too bitter.

wow! it's nice to know that theirs expensive coffee made from crap of animal but i don't dare myself to have one...whatever the explanation waste is waste for me..

I'm still waiting for my friend's invitation once the same coffee is available in his farm. He says this "digested" coffee tastes really different. It's one of a kind, hence the term exotic. By the way, that wild cat is called 'alamid' here in the Philippines.

I don't drink coffee at all, with that said, I'd never drink anything made from poop. That's disgusting.

So I'd have to pay between $100 and $600 to drink poop? I'll pass. I wouldn't even pay that much for coffee that wasn't made out of crap. That's completely insane and an astronomical price for coffee. I don't care how good it may or may not be. Even if it was cheap though, I probably wouldn't try it even for the simple fact of what it is.
