The greatest hockey team in NHL history is the Montreal Canadiens,
If you ever wondered why we have the logo Habs, it is because it is short for les habitants or the locals, which was the old name.
Montreal children are brought up on hockey, as soon as a boy can walk he is often on skates. My son started playing hockey when he was 3 year olds. The Montreal Canadians dominated the Stanley Cup championships with 24 stanley since its beginning in 1909 even before the nhl. It is one of the oldest sports teams in North America. It has had its share of stars, the pocket rocket, , Jean Belliveau, Boom Boom Geofrion, Jacques Plante, Maurice and Henri Richard, guy lafleur, Ken Dryden, Yvan Cournoyer, Pete Mahovlich, Serge Savard, Bob Gainey, Guy Lapointe, Steve Shutt, Larry Robinson, Scotty Bowmanand our recent stars, Patrick Roy and so on.
The Canadiens have not won in 17 years and now they have a decent shot at it,
the one over the two strongest teams in the league, and now they are playing the flyers, we are down 3 to 1 at the moment
But we Montrealers love our team and we are still backing them 100 percent,
Do you think Montreal will beat the flyers or the next game is curtain call?

I think so. I'm not sure. I haven't watched hockey for a long time. The only player I know is Brett Hull.

I may sound like a traitor since I'm American and I should want the Flyers to win. But hockey means much more to people in Canada, so I would actually like to see a team from Canada win. Now if I were a big fan of hockey I might be rooting for an American team, I don't know. But if the Canadiens were to come back and win the series, I wouldn't be at all disappointed to see the Flyers lose.

it would be nice we took the gold medal in the olympics (canada)
and it would be nice the historic Canadiens could bring the stanley cup back home.

I honestly don't know much about hockey. I do like watching it sometimes mainly because of the fights. My husband watches it, he didn't really get into hockey until he was stationed in Newfoundland and played against some of the locals. When it comes to the playoffs, I just wish the best to win.

I saw the last game when the Flyers went up 3 games to 1. It's pretty tough coming back from that deficit but it has been done before. We know how much you Canadians love your hockey. Since the Kings were knocked out early I stopped watching the playoffs. I might have to watch the last game though.

Team pride!!! It's all good. Canadians are awesome hockey players. I'm glad we have basketball, at least.

well since they lost last nite, it will be touch and go. the thing that i hate that the fans (and a few other ruffians) always seem to go out and trash downtown after a game. why do they do that?
i hope montreal wins as they are the only canadian team left. GO LEAFS! :-D

forgot to comment on the ruffians, I don't know why sports fans get all crazy like that hockey riots, or football riots in Europe, it is just out of control. I think it is the adrenaline burst for the excitement,
but the looting is just opportunity, a crook is a crook and will take his or her chance whenever he or she can get it.
that could be a good topic to write about, hmmm thanks for the idea, I may write it up in my mental health column.
pm me if you would like the links to my writing sites.

I don't follow hockey, just what I hear on the news, but weren't they down 3 to 1 in the last round and still managed to pull it off? Maybe they'll do it again. They're the only Canadian team left in the playoffs, so yeah, Go Habs Go.

Honestly mum, I hate to admit it, but I think we're done.
The flyers are 3-1 and now that means that IF we expect to advance, we have to win all 3 of the next 3 games, and the way they been playing, I doubt that's gonna happen.
As I was talking about it with my dad and our neighbours, I think they have plainly just given up, or maybe got a little too full of themselves. I think that because they beat the 2 top teams in the league, they generally assume that they will beat the flyers, since the flyers are bottom rank like they are.
But the flyers have beenshowing them that they won't go down without a fight.
Mind you, I never was a fan till this year's playoffs started, but I am a fan now, and I would love to see them advance to the final round and then see them win the cup. Especially since this year is their centennial, and that would be a great thing for them to bring it home this year.
I'm just not holding my breath anymore, but of course, I'll still be a fan even if they lose.

it is not over til its over, they were down in the other two team games to and they came back, so we will just have to see. Yes it will be hard to get three games, it worries me too, but you never know.
They know all of Montreal is routing for them, and that is intense pressure.

BAr
yup I forgot to say that one
