I leave on vacation tomorrow and part of the excitment is not only is my grandson graduating from high school but while I am there I get to share many hours with my granddaughter scrapping. I have brought with me three small scrapbooks...one I hope we get to do a memory book for my grandson and the other two are for my granddaughter to keep so she can do special moments from this year with her friends. When I am home I scrap with my sisters and my DIL....Do you spend those special times scrapping with others in your family or friends? Do you prefer doing it by yourself?

hi jillhilll long time no see. I looked at that and thought oh no someone else having trouble with their family then I realized you meant scrapbooking , a whole different thing for sure, and much happier too.
I have scrapped a long time back and my stuff is still in storage.I am really tempted to start again as its
so much fun. It would have to b e myself as my son is my only family and he is not into stuff like that.Have fun going to Arizona and scrap a lot with you granddaughter too.hugs from hatley.

Hope you had a great time in Arizona with your granddaughter working on scrapbooking. What great ideas you have for your grandkids and keeping photos in good condition while showing those special moments with their friends. I just can't get into scrapbooking. Haven't had much time to really get into it and finish a project. Guess I should take some of the photos off my computer, send to Walgreen's and then put in scrapbook for all the grandkids. One day I will be sorry if this big toy crashes and I haven't done anything with the photos.

My scrap-booking skills come down to this, buy a scrapbook and place pictures and news articles in the pages..Nothing fancy like some people do, I don't have time or money to do that, but have seen some really good looking scrap-booking pages before..
I think it is a great idea, though, I am sure this will make good memories for your granddaughter and yourself as well..Have fun and enjoy your trip...

My niece and her mother do a lot of scrapbooking. I tried doing it once with some old old pictures of my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary and found the job to be WAY to big for me! lol I did do some but ended up sending the whole dang thing to my niece and her mother to do. They did a pretty good job with it with the short time that they had to get it done in.
Hope you have a grand ole time on your trip!!

Aww, you're going to have such a wonderful time Jill! I hope you're feeling better from your fall the other day.
I have never done any scrapbooking, but I am a crafter. Now, wouldn't you think I would know how to do this, haha. It sounds like great fun for everyone all around, and a nice time to spend quality time with your sisters and DIL.
How the heck do you start scrapping? Is it just with photo's?

My back is still sore, dang it! I don't use just photo's....for Mark's graduation memory book we'll put in an announcement...his senior picture.....then the commencement program then all the pictures from the graduation and party after...I collect other things on special occasions..like menus from restaurants etc. It's fun to put them together...but so much fun to pick them up and see your memories.

Poor Jill, don't forget to take along some pain killers of some sorts for your back. Can you take Ibuprofen? I think that relieves swelling.
Ohhhhh, I think I get it now, I just never paid attention to scrapbooking. So you use all kinds of fun stuff, sort of like a collage?
Now this scrapbooking that you're putting together for your grandson is going to be a whole scrapbook, not just pages, I see. That just sounds adorable and I like the idea. Are you going to put in a small tidbit that relates to your back, haha? Like a picture of the steps you fell down, or the bruise, lol? Just as a reminder to him of all you went through and still showed up to celebrate!

Years ago I tried and loved it, but I think what I need to do is join a scrap-booking club, once I get creative it flows, the problem is getting into that mind set. I think a club would help out greatly. I love taking pictures and usually take tons, and then I keep tickets from different things, never thought about menus from restaurants or programs really. That's what I mean about a club with so many other people having ideas. I think I may check into it for summer.
I hope that you have a wonderful time with your grandchildren, those are memories that will remain with them throughout their lives. Happy Mylottting!!!

I don't do any scrapping but it's a wonderful idea. Your discussion is very refreshing. If more families would bond like what you are doing, there would be a whole lot less turmoil in this troubled world.
Have a wonderful time and thank you for sharing.

Hi Jill, I don't think scarapping is popular in the UK as I first heard of it here from you but I know you enjoy doing it so have a lovely time with your grandaughter. I bet the graduation will be amazing. . Look forward to hearing about your trip upon your return. Relax and enjoy. Huggles. Ellie :D

I hope that you enjoy scrapping with your granddaughter. I hope that you will have a great time while you are there. And congratulations to your grandson for graduating from high school too.
