Civil Rights Act

Rand Paul started a controversy with his comments about the Civil Rights Act. First he said he would not, I repeat He would NOT repeal the act but would like the nation to have a philosophical discussion about it. I would like to ask myloters where does the government right to make rules about our lives begin and end. As I understand the law if I as a private citizen want to hire someone to mow my lawn I can hire whom ever I want. If I own a small lawn care business and want to hire someone to take care of mowing laws of my customers I could be sued if I hire the wrong person? On paper I have three people all qualified and If I hire one the other two could sue me if they are members of a protected class. At this point I have to show that the one I hired was superior to the other two candidates. I have to prove I am innocent of discrimination. If I own a business can I decide who I will let in my business or not? Can I decide who will live in my apartments that I rent out? Can I decide who I will associate with? These and many more questions are what he wanted the country to discuss and come to an agrement. My question is who should decide these questions?

The government has no business making ANY rules about our lives. The Federal Government's jurisdiction is limited to the 10 square mile area that DC occupies. The rest is left to the individual States and to the people. The crooks in Congress have forgotten their limitations, and should be dropkicked back into their yard so that the American people can live our lives in the manner that the Founding Fathers intended.... and with our individual Liberty and Freedom intact. Some of the States have finally had enough and are putting DC on notice that they will tolerate no more interference in their State Sovereignty. We are fast becoming a Fascist Police State, and if we don't turn things around really soon things are going to be really bad for everyone. Check this out... http://blip.tv/file/3661748

The Federal Government has to see that every citizen has the Opportunity to be successful BUT not the obligation to see that we are. If you have a business to serve people then you serve all people. If you want to hire young people because that is the age you want to attract so be it. Don't tell me I have to hire a cross dresser just because they want a job.

Agreed... Have you ever seen those signs on businesses that say "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time?" Same thing goes for hiring and firing... the Business Owner is in charge, not the government or anyone else. For the government to try to tell business owners how to conduct their business, well that's known as Fascism. American's have been living under Economic Fascism for a very long time... ever since the FED was created. Yet there are idiots dumb enough to claim that the economy tanked because of the Free Market. We have no such thing here and have not for nearly a hundred years. The economy tanked because the government interfered with the marketplace... just as it always does. The government is limited by the constraints that the US Constitution puts on it, and it is time that the Real Americans slapped the government right back into it's place... which is the 10 mile area of DC. The States can handle the rest of it.

even here where i am, the current government has been starting some dialogs that seem to be leading up to something like this.. i keep on thinking to myself, what the heck am i doing learning all the stuff i learnt if the government is going to decide everything for me? it's not like the government machinery is a well-oiled machine that can respond immediately when needed.. some politicians & lawmakers seem to be talking just for the sake of hearing their own voices..
