I asked my mom to deposit my money in a bank and I said that I wanted it in Union Bank because as what others told me that my online earnings in Paypal can be paid by Union bank. But the problem is the bank is still new in our place and It can be risky to entrust my money there according to my parents and I've observed that new banks that opens in our place ends up being bankrupted. I hope there's still other way for me to have my online earnings. Do you think I should entrust my money there?

Hi! Maybe the branch in your place is a new one but the bank itself, Unionbank is not a new bank really. It's been there for a long time, are you familiar with I-Bank? It already merged with Unionbank a few years ago. The bank has been there for a long time, I was wondering why did your parents said that the bank is new.

hello! It's true,I agree with kourdapya.Union Bank is an International Bank as well and has been there for so long.It has a very good foundation thus it was able to merge with I-bank & retain it's name.

you supposed to open eon card by union bank as its supported by paypal itself, you can even check the website then go to eon and its in there. any transaction made via paypal is safe and a lot of people already used their service. you can transfer the money to other bank once you already received it with your eon, by the way, emploers from union bank cannot guarantee if union debit card is valid to use for verifying paypal as i talked to them before and as what they said, only eon is supported. just visit the unionbank of the philippines site for more info.

Based on my experience, Union Bank is a good enough bank for your Paypal earnings. But if you have a savings account in other banks, most likely you would be able to withdraw your earnings there. I opened a Union Bank Eon account when Paypal was still not accepted in other banks here, but now that Paypal is no longer exclusively for Union Bank, I have a lot more choices.

Union Bank is a big banking company. It's not a no name bank where you really need to be wary in entrusting your savings. Union Bank is really a convenient way to get your online earnings. Because the card that you will get from them is VISA. And they have online banking, which is even more convenient. If you do not intend your money to earn interest, go for the EON. Otherwise, get the e-Wallet. I'm using Union Bank myself. If you will withdraw from Paypal, it's free if Php7000 above, Php50 transaction fee, otherwise. Not bad, IMO. The processing is 3 banking days (1 day for paypal, 2 days for Union Bank).

I've seen their website already and have encountered EON and e-wallet. What would be best to use form those two?

if you just need a way to get your online earnings, getting an EON account is the most convenient and least expensive way. For only Php350, you'll have a VISA debit card that you can use with paypal. If it has funds in it, you can use it to shop around. Much like having a credit card, only prepaid.

I know your parent is concern but unionbank is in the business for a long time, I don't think they will be gone in an instant, besides many people who earn online uses it to transfer money from paypal.

Hi, The Union Bank is a very old bank and like people say that "Old is Gold". I would say that you can trust the bank. I has stood the test of time and not shut down when a lot of other banks were shutting down so go ahead and do your transactions with the bank. They may not have features like all private banks but they are sure trustworthy.

Hi! Well, most Filipinos like me use Unionbank to transfer the earnings from paypal. No, it's not risky, as homeshoppers had mentioned, if a problem occurs on your place, that was on the branch itself but it does not affect the whole company. It is the easiest way of verifying your paypal account. I applied last December on Olongapo branch and after four days, I got my card, paid 350php and deposited some money to be used for verification. I enrolled it on unionbank's online site then I verified my paypal account. An amount of $1.95 or around 90php was charged to my card and refunded after confirmation. After getting verified, I add its account number to paypal so there is less charge when transferring money. There is no reason to doubt because it is working fine based on what I had experienced. Have a nice day!

even if the bank is just new in your place but the bank as a whole itself is big then even if they closed it there you can still get the money by going to the main office, unionbank is a big company and what you mentioned is just a branch of it so if one of the branch close it didnt affect the whole company.

If it's a big bank like Unionbank, I don't think they can go bankrupt. Unless the whole company fails. The branch may close, but your account would just simple be transfered to another branch that is closest to your place. Big banks like Unionbanks, BPI, Metrobank are highly regulated by BSP, so I don't think you need to worry about it being bankrupt. I should know cause I work in one of them.

I have an EON Card from Union Bank and I withdrawed my accounts from paypal for how many times and there is no problem. Union Bank is not a new bank. They had started their business since 1981 and became a commercial bank in January, 1982. Granted to operate as universal bank in 1992. Hope these will remove your doubt.

Hi, I am also using Unionbank for my paypal transactions. I have just received my card. For more info on Unionbank-paypal, please search through the bank's website. My friends use unionbank too-- so I am not worried about it. And by the way, may you share how you earn money online? :)
