What do you guys think about the ranking system in TNA? Supposedly its to help determine the number one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship...but like many "fan" things WWE has done, I think it is a bunch of crap.

I don't like it even remotely. First off there is no set way on how it is set up. First it was fan voted, and then it became matches won based, and now it's... something. And even when you voted, there were only 10 options to choose from, it's not like you could vote for Eric Young or something. It felt fake and forced and still does. And even now I don't know what being #3 on the ranking means, and neither does anyone else. They should drop the whole thing. Ranking systems doesn't work when most of the roster is in a match every two weeks. It works in boxing and MMA because matches are so far apart and it makes sense. In wrestling wins and loses are traded back and forth all the time.

I like the idea of fans getting involved in the show and outcomes, though I would like to see the wrestlers do it on their own also. I also like this idea for it is something different from WWE and TNA needs to be doing their own thing, many storylines I feel they have taken from WWE and incorporated it to their own story. I would like to see TNA get out from everyone else's ideas and go to their own and be different, get the public to watch them and take away from WWE. Even though I do watch both now

I think this entire fan poll concept is a sound idea in theory, but I think it never works out well. Take, WWE Cyber Sunday/Taboo Tuesday back in the day for instance. There were many times where WWE wanted fans to vote a certain way, but the fans voted another way. Then they got all upset because the fans did not really vote the way they wanted to. Which says to me, why do the fan voting. I think the biggest example of this was Matt Hardy being voted into a tag team match one year instead of JBL, which is what they were pushing on television. This brings me to the TNA fan poll. The voting had Desmond Wolfe win the first poll. I voted for Desmond, obviously many other people did. And the fans get rewarded, by seeing the guy they voted for, beaten in a throw away match on Impact in under four minutes. This is what TNA did to reward their fans. I like TNA a lot of the time, mostly because they have so much great talent on the roster but what they do is counterproductive a lot of the time. A ranking system on the other hand is good in theory. In fact, it is a great idea, as its something that WWE is not doing. TNA should be making itself the alternative, instead of WWE Jr. That's the reason why I started watching it in the first place. The Pick Six ranking system in Ring of Honor, I like but this TNA ranking system has been a disaster.
