If you have been watching WWE or known before as WWF, the plot and the storyline are now becoming like kid's show. I am not destroying WWE at present but comparing the show to the era of Stone Cold, The Rock, the present show is far worse than before. I don't know what happen to the show, but I think WWE should have someone like Stone Cold or The Rock that would catapult the show to where it should be, bring back the WWE Attitude that makes it the most watched sports entertainment.

It is funny you should ask this question and talk about the attitude era because I just did some research... As amazing as we tend to think the attitude era was, it hurt the professional wrestling business more than it helped. Just think back...during the attitude era, ladder matches and TLC matches were new concepts. Wrestlers did more insane never seen before stunts than ever before. I admit that it was extraordinarily entertaining, but when they try to recreate the same thing today...it does not work. It has nothing to do with the PG era. What made things so amazing back in the attitude era was the newness of everything. I think what caused WWE to start the PG era was the fact that many of the younger fans don't remember or were not watching during the attitude era. This means that for them, everything they see is new. WWE is creating a new generation of wrestling fans. As for your idea that bringing back Rock or Austin would change everything, I must say that I disagree. If you have been watching long enough, you would know that people were saying pretty much the same thing about them as they now do about John Cena. When Cena is replaced, they will do the same with whomever that person is. On a side note, just because you are not into the direction that WWE is going does not mean you can no longer be a fan of professional wrestling. I would recommend that you check out various local and independent wrestling promotions. Who know's, you may get to see a future TNA or WWE star get their start in the business. I loved being able to watch guys like Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan) and CM Punk BEFORE they went to the "big leagues".

I know, even Austin and the Rock will not changed the present WWE.. But what am saying is that, WWE should at least try to return to the attitude era of what was professional wrestling is all about. like ECW, or early TNA.

Yes, but what I was trying to explain is that in this day and age, the attitude era would not work. Wrestling fans are jaded and expect wrestlers to dive off ladders or doing insane moves but it is just not smart for the wrestling business to keep that up. Not to mention, it is not good for the wrestlers either. That is why WWE is no longer focusing on the fans that loved the attitude era. Instead they are trying to create a new generation of fans that are not so jaded that they expect these wrestlers who are pretty much guaranteed that they will have some sort of surgery, to do stuff that in the long run is not at all good for their health or the wrestling business. Basically the attitude era HURT the wrestling business MORE than it HELPED.

Hornswoggle. - Hornswoggle, who will be around this PG WWE as long as he sells merchandise and attracts the children audience.
I actually heard that it's because a few things why WWE has taken a more PG route. One, their new toy deal is one that they had to make some concessions on to get and that was toning down the product. Therefore, it was purely a business decision on that part. Of course, it has made the product suffer in a few ways, as it has limited what they can do. Then it has to do with sponsors. WWE can get more if they are kid oriented. That means more money for their bottom line. I think that if anything else, Vince McMahon is a businessman. He is out for the bottom line and if he can get better sponsors by toning down the product, than he will in fact tone down the product. Considering that wrestling is a hard company to get sponsorship for, you need all of the money you can get. I do think that WWE's PG rating can be lame, although there have been a few good matches here and there, so I can't complain too much. Maybe in 5 or 10 years, there might be a need to add a bit of an edge to things but not right now. Merchandise is through the roof and that's because of the audience of children. I do think if business does fail, then there will be some changes, but as long as children beg their parents to buy them shirts with John Cena or Hornswoggle on them, then its going to continue to be down this road. I do think there is a happy medium to be found between PG and Attitude era that can satisfy all parties. 2000 was actually the best year of WWE of the past decade and it was not as over the top as the previous couple of years, but at the same time it had enough of an edge to be interesting. I think that stopping a match to close a cut in the middle of a match between two wrestlers who in the storyline hate each other is the stupidest thing to come out of this, especially if its in a Pay Per View Match.

The PG rating really changed WWE. I should think Vince will have to think of something "new" to introduce to the WWE fans.

To be honest, I've been watching the WWE (even since when it was WWF) for a while now and I'm afraid I have to agree with what you wrote. The problem for me is : The Plot/Storyline, either one you prefer. When it comes to superstars as you mentioned (Stone Cold, The Rock), does it actually give them a 'big mark' because when we think about them NOWADAYS they are popular for what they have done in the past. But when we think about current WWE superstars WHO ARE NOT YET 'WRESTLER', we can't think something good about them simply because they have done nothing at the moment. I would say that the WWE itself is actually building its superstar's name so in the future wrestlers are not only Stone Cold, The Undertaker, The Rock, and so on.

You can only count who are the wrestlers at present, some of them can't even wrestler but to the idea that they have this image of popularity, they became the show's main symbol to which it should not be.. WWE should do something about that, the popularity of the show starts to deteriorate and i really don't know why.. What would happen to WWE when Triple H, Undertaker, Kane and Mysterio will someday retire?

I hear they're focusing more on kids now cuz we all know that it's just a skit but kids still enjoy it. Although the stunts are still for adults that's why adults still watch it. I still watch it from time to time. I like to watch high-flyers do their thing.
