Well, I have gotten tattos, I have 6 of them. They are very nice. I am very happy with all of them. Most of them are medium sized to small with the exception of the last one I got. Its really big and its on my calf. I love it!! My parents did not mind. When I was 18 I got my first one. And shortly after my mom got one in the same place. The side of her leg. Its a unicorn.

I think my parents might shoot my head off if I walked in the door with a tattoo. But personally, I don't think they're that terrible. I mean, yes, they are a pain to remove and quite costly, but if you have a reason for the tattoo, you won't end up hating it and wanting to have it removed. Some of the tattoo artists create outstanding pieces of work which quite amazes me. Unfortunately, I don't really have a reason to get a tattoo, therefore, I might end up hating it, so I avoid getting one. (:

Yeah StephanieAnnc, parents always worry their kids to have tattoo on their body. I think it might be during those olden days only bag eggs as well as culprits were the only people who put tattoos on their body to show their power or right. And they don't know nowadays things have changed and having tattoos has become the fashion trend. The old stories still stick in their mind, no wonder they still have such worry I suppose That's why they still scare and don't allow their kids to have any on their body. may be your parents would allowed if having the tattoo of the picture of your parents or a peculiar masterpiece with their names in it.

One of my friends loves dragon and he has dragon tattoo on his back since young. we could recognize him easily when having fun along the beach by seeing the unique tattoo from certain distance. The design of such tattoo is rather complicated and need quite some time to get it achieved completely. I'm not brave enough to have tattoo on my body though I love the simple one like butterfly, flower, etc. I scare that I would get bored of it one day. And I was told that it's not easy to get rid of it. The charge is expensive as well and we have to tolerate the pain too Happy posting

Really, it's a good idea to have the temporary tattoos before having the decision which is the right one to put on as a cool permanent mark as remembrance!

I agree. I'd only get a tattoo if I ALWAYS Wanted it or it means something to me. Such as a memorial or something that represents me. Otherwise, I'd be to afraid that I'd hate it in the future. So for now, I opt for temporary tattoos. (:

I think our body is a temple of God so no tattoo please. We have to be a role model. It's only good to our sight but not on God sight.

You was correct stephanie, because when we have original tattoo, it's good for only some time. After some years, when our skin come to shrink, we doesn't like those tattoos. So it's correct choice to choose temporary tattoo.

If you're not sure, get it in temporary tattoo form and try it out to see if you like it and would continue to like it in years to come.

Well, its a very good art and creativity of humans. Why we should neglect them, instead of encourage them.

I have no idea what my parents think about tattoos. My sister has a tattoo, and my sisters husband has a tattoo. I find tattoos ugly, and disgusting. I think it hides the beauty the person already has, and distracts you from looking at how pretty they are. Instead of thinking 'wow she has beautiful eyes' or 'great hair' or even 'what a wonderful figure'... no instead I think 'ugh what a nasty tattoo she has' and I don't even remember what she looks like. So, no I will not get a tattoo.

Yes you are correct. I'm sure there are people that like them. To me, it reminds me of primitive isolated tribes somewhere, shoving bones through their skin, and cutting themselves with rocks. Absolutely ugly.

WEll, that's based on taste of the person. Not everyone will look on your view. Some people like to have tattoo and they feel it was good to them.

Hi, Now a days i have seen many people crazy for tattoos on the body.I can't understand any sense behind that.Which sort of fun one can get by having tattoos on the body?Well, it depends upon the taste of individuals.

mtvmtv, I agree with the whole tattoo fad. I feel like more people my age are getting tattoos just because. On the other hand, tattoos are to each their own. I mean, to a lot of people who get tattoos, they hold some type of meaning. Some tattoos are memorials for people who have passed away and they were close to, other tattoos represent themselves in an object form.

When I was young I used to think it would be nice to have a small tattoo on my shoulder or ankle but my mum was wary of it and gradually I went off the idea just because I don't like to be noticed too much lol and tattoos are a talking point. Also I am very pale and I don't think they look so good against such pale skin somehow.. It doesn't bother me if other people have tattoos, I can appreciate them and often think they look good although I don't so much like to see someone with huge tattoos that cover most of their skin - that's just me :)

Ya, if we can't able to have tattoos in our body , we should appreciate by seeing tattoos on other's body. Now do you have an idea of having tattoos in your body.

no not any more - I am too old and too pale now I think. I would not like it on myself any more.

I had my first tattoo when I was 21, but even then (when I was married with a baby) my parents disapproved and told me to cover my tattoo when we saw my grandparents! I had my second tattoo in my 30s. Both are small, at the top of either arm. One is a Pegasus (flying horse) and the other is a Faerie Aisha Neopet (cat with wings).

Wow, so would you like to have more tattoos or not. If your son or daughter like to have tattoo, what will be your reaction on them.

Well that's fine. I think every good thing has a bad experience. Even the tattoos can make the person to sick.
@karen1969 (1779)

Sometimes I think I would like more tattoos, but I had a bbad experience with the second. I fainted then it was hard to come back, then I was sick, so it was horrible. I wouldn't mind if my kids have tattoos as long as they are old enough to get one legally, which I think is 18 here in the UK.

theres nothing wrong with a tattoo. I have five, its an expression of yourself. And i dont care what anyone says, you will not go to hell for getting a tattoo. I think that calling something satanic that you know nothing about is satanic. If you want one go and get it. Make it meaningful and you'll never regret it, I promise.
• India
26 May 10
What's your profession. Every one will get tattoos for their own wish. We should not care about others.
• Philippines
26 May 10
the question is though, would my profession allow me to have tattoos? But, hey tattoos are not satanic nor will it condemn your soul to hell.

When i was younger my parents also didn't allow me to to have tattoos. But now I am old enough to decide for me self.Next week I am going to have my first tattoo (two swallows birds)and I am very excited.

I have one tattoo and would like to get another one. My husband has one tattoo also. My mom and dad both have tattoo's so they can't really say anything about me having any. They actually told me that they liked mine and my husband's when we got them. My mom was there when we got the tattoos.

Well, that's fine. What was your parents reaction when you had your first tattoo. Are they permitted you to get or they scolded for getting to it.

I guess tattoos are all right. It is a form of self-expression of an individual and is a form of art too. I don't know if I would want a permanent one though. Recently, I bought some lollipop from the local supermarket because it said it has tattoo in it. I thought I'd give it a try so I bought it. To my surprise, the temporary tattoo looks really great and somehow real too. It feels different to have one and others looked at it. The first temporary tatoo, I didn't like its location. The next temporary tattoo, I put it in a better location. I guess I wouldn't want a permanent temporary because I can't remove it. Anyone wanting a tattoo should really think at where they want their permanent tattoos to be. I would like a Henna tattoo though.

I don't think any parent would want their children to get tattoos. It is viewed as unsightly by many people, and it might be damaging to your skin in the long run.
• India
26 May 10
Yes, at teen age we should not think about the future but parents will think about the future and they will not permit to have tattoos on their children's body. But we can try for temporary tattoos.
• Philippines
26 May 10
Sorry but i consider tatoos as dirty. In my country when we see persons with lots of tatooes in their body they are ex-convicts. But nowadays it has become a fashion statement and concepts of people on tatoos have changed also. Another thing with tatoos, many are doing it in a non-sterile environment and risks of infection or tetanus is high aside from being painful. It is ugly really to look at.
• India
26 May 10
Well, why you are thinking tattoo as the ugly one. Consider the tattoo as art. It's a beautiful creativity and hard work from the human. Why we need to neglect those things.

Parents knows best. If you are going to get a tattoo on you body make sure that its not just because its in or a friend has it and your just envious. Its permanent. It will be there on you skin for the rest of your life and if you have money you can erase it but what if you don't have it. Sometimes having tattoos hinders you getting a job specially if they are in areas that can be seen a lot. If you really like to have a tattoo try to get a henna one. It will stay for a few months and you can easily change it ones it goes out.
• India
26 May 10
Ya, it will stay on our body until our life time. But why should we think of having temporary tattoo in our body.
• Philippines
26 May 10
Definitely not. I don't like tattoos. It's kinda dirty to look at especially if it's all over the body. Pardon me, I'm a mom and I wouldn't recommend it to my kids. Your mom is right and I admire you for obeying her.

Ya, my mom was correct. But i like to have tattoos in my arms. So i was in think of trying temporary tattoos.
