My daughter's 2nd birthday is fast approaching, next week.I was just wondering what should I do to make her happy on that day. Do I have to give her a party?I love my daughter & wanted to give her everything but practically I don't want to spend too much.Any idea? Please share what do you think is the best way to celebrate her birthday without spending too much. Big hug to all

Wow this is my most favorite topic as a mommy. I love planning my kids parties on my own. Then I read ideas from the net.. I have several friends who are party planners but I prefer to do it on my own to save on expenses. Of course hiring them will incur a lot as they also charge on particularly everything. Well, I normally buy stuff ahead of time. Like 3 months before the party, i already started buying giveaways, balloons, pay already for cake. So when the party is near, I dont have to panic and money spent is not so burden. For short notice, best to bake your own cake then buy some colorful candies and chocolates. Buy balloons and pop it yourself then decorate with color motiff. There are a lot of Do-It-Yourself stuff available in the net. For two year old, important is just the cake as long as the parents and some friends are there.. its already a party.

No problem shenlynn, I am always in this situation whenever my kids birthday is approaching. With 2 year birthday, its not as important as the 1st but then again, we as parents wants the best always for our kids. And if we can afford, why not do it right? But during these times, I try not to spend so much anymore.

Why not spend the day at the zoo, the park or the beach? I think she would love to go swimming especially with the excruciating heat. Or you can also go to a nearby swimming pool. And keep it with your close family members so that it will be memorable and not to much stressful. Or you can also celebrate it with her close friends from the neighborhood. Keep it simple and quiet so that she will enjoy her birthday. I think at her age, she will be very happy even if you have a day at the mall, ride on the carousel and of course buy a new dress. Happy birthday to your daughter Shenlynn! (^^,)

You're very welcome Shenlynn! And I hope she has a very happy Birthday. Try to ask her too if she wants a theme, or maybe a sleep over with her close friends and cousin. Like a birthday pajama party. It would be fun too. (^^,)

If you make a big deal of it, with lots of hugs and kisses and singing she will be happy. She won't know what the big deal is, but anytime parents show their kid they love them, the kid is happy. At 2 they like an empty box more than whatever came in it. If she has a favorite healthy food, you can make it for her and tell her it's special for her birthday. She will be happy. Don't buy balloons. They are dangerous for 2 year old's. If they pop the kid can inhale it and die.

She is going to be 2 years old, that has to be the easiest birthday to have planned for. They don't call it the terrible twos for nothing. I say set up the house in a way she can get into anything and do anything, with out getting in trouble for being 2 years old.
