The time I almost sank in quicksand, and someone watched.

This is a true story that happened earlier today. Note: I didn't see quicksand, but I'm sure it was around the area. I went out for a walk this morning, because I woke up with all this extra energy, and didn't feel like laying in bed as I usually do. It was still pretty damp from last nights rain, so I was prepared for a little mud. Note: there are no sidewalks on this road I like to walk down. I live just outside of the city. I stepped off the road as motorists drove by. They would drift slightly into the other lane as they passed, indicating that it would be fine with them If I didn't walk in the mud. I always appreciate that. I get that people have to think about their own safety. That's why I have no issues with stepping off the road, even if there is no traffic coming the other way. Sometimes I wave to indicate that I am welcome by their hospitality. Other times, I use telepathy because I'm not in the mood to wave at anything or anyone. Not sure if it comes off as me being angry or what though. On my way back, there was one motorist who felt the need to not only stay in their lane(that's cool, but there was no traffic going the other way), forcing me to walk in moderately deep mud, but they also slowed to a crawl while driving toward me. It was like they got off on seeing me get my shoes all mucked up or something. I didn't get a good look at who they were. Not sure if the windshield was tinted, or I was blinded with rage. I get not changing lanes. but showing down when you can clearly see that I'm not trekking in the best conditions? There's something very mean spirited about that. At least I was wearing my black sneakers. I just let the mud dry, and beat them against the steps of the house, then wipe them with a damp cloth.
