I agree, the YouTube tutorials are awesome and have some great makeup ideas and tips. I usually have a really simple routine - a medium colored eye shadow all over the lid up to just over the crease. Then I put on HIP eyeliner from L'Oreal (the one that comes in the little pot) and some mascara. Takes just a couple minutes and makes my eyes stand out well, without fussing over a complicated routine of color blending on the eyelid.

Depending on the look or intensity of color I'm going for, I have different methods. But I always use an eyelid primer, it makes the shadow stay put all day with no creases or migration down your lids. After the primer is set, I apply a basic color over my lids with a brush - not one of those spongy applicator things. Then I blend the color into my brow bone so it looks airbrushed. If you want to add a another color, apply with a brush near your browbone and blend outward.

I'm not a professional at putting on eyeshadow, but I can give you a couple of tips that I go by. Usually I apply the darker color first, then a lighter color, then the lightest at the top. My favorite is blue. So, near my eyelashes and about half my eyelid, I do a teal, then above that a light green and above that a white. The white helps highlight your eyes and is placed up until your eyebrow. Good luck! (: I love makeup and I hope you come to love it too!
