all little girls were taught this by their moms. common sense when growing up would lead us to pants whenever we're not sure if we could cross our legs for a long time. what's wrong with public women wearing pants? i know that it is an unspoken protocol that women in power are preferred in skirts but sometimes pants would be the only option. see elena kagan's pose, a supreme court nominee in the u.s.

Really?
The most important think that strikes you about a Supreme Court nominee is how she positions her legs when she sits?
Really?
It even makes the top ten?
Really?
What's your opinion of how "Justice" Scalia positions his legs when he sits?

Post in public, expect a public response.
Whether or not you earn impacts my life not at all. Don't spend it all in once place.

Crossing your legs in a skirt is a NO NO. Sit straight... tuck your feet back, knees together and slightly turned to one side (both to the same side) and cross your ankles.

actually, for those really conscious of etiquette, crossing the legs, especially for women is a no-no. the thing to do is to tuck them together or to tuck one leg behind the other. since the advent of equal opportunities between men and women, moms are having less and less time to teach their kids things like these. this, and the fact that people are more into "mind your own business", and "express your self", etiquette is something that's less and less seen.
i don't see any problem with women wearing pants, even those in power. i see a lot of them in pants. i think it's part of what we earned when we fought for equal rights.

To me the correct way for a women to sit is both legs closed and both feet to the side or one foot behind the other. Crossing legs is also not good for circulation at least that is what I was always told. However, nothing is showing so its not like her legs are wide open. I don't understand the problem here. If her legs were wide open and you could see her undies then I would understand.
