is this insomnia?

since childhood, it takes me a hard time to go to sleep. even when the atmosphere is so silent and cold where everybody is fast asleep, even if im lying on my bed with my eyes shut, i still can't sleep. and the problem is, therefore, i wake up very late. is this bad? insomnia or anything else?

I think it's already a kind of a moderate insomnia since you experiencing it from your childhood and up to now.. try some home remedy for that.. drink milk specially at bed time..because milk has a sleeping magic power..or much better if you will visit your doctor for that..most commonly, they prescribe Diazepam (Valium)..but of course you have the permission of your doctor for that..to avoid the adverse effect.. based on our research study, insomnia is a psychological factor. Maybe you can't sleep because you are thinking something in your mind that's why you can't sleep. As you said in your post you wake up very late, it means you can sleep but not early. I had a friend she has insomnia, even at daytime she can't feel that she is sleepy, even she is so tired. To explain your experiencing regarding sleeping pattern it would be better to seek medical advice, so that they can also give you some medication to change your sleeping pattern.

thanks, :-) but there are also times that my head is blank but i still can't sleep :-)

Maybe this is some kind of form of insomnia... Do you sleep during the day or get tired during the day, do you go to bed early... perhaps you should get some medical advice, if you are suffering like this, after all we do all need to sleep, maybe there is something that could be done, or perhaps a dose of sleeping pills or something could help you, perhaps they could help get your body into some kind of routine... even so I think the best thing to do would be to seek some kind of medical advice.

Hello davity, Have you been to to a physician with this problem? why dont you do so? I have heard of some people who are unable to sleep until very late and they wake up very late.One of my friends has this problem and he describes himself as a night person :)) Does your health suffer because of lack of sleep ? all the best !
