This has plenty of blame to go around. We had this happen off the Santa Barbara coast then Alaska and now we may have destroyed the Gulf Coast. We are all responsible for this. We did not hold Exxon to higher standards but, I used to sub contract to them and they really did clean up their own act. What they were most astounded by was that the more they spent on safty the more profitable they became, go figure..... President Carter tried to get us all to recognize that we had to change the way we use oil. We simply cannot be this arrogant about how we treat the earth and how we consume the resources. We voted in oil industry lacky's for decades. This will not change until we demand something different.

Actually I just pointed out it ia all our faults but if you really want to assign balme we have to go back to the Reagan Administration. They cut these guys loose and defunded all the corperate oversight and those regulatory agency's never got looked at again. We vote in people who take huge sums of money from the oil industry, for decades we allowed the auto industry to build any size car they wanted. We went decades and several presidents without changing the CAFE standards. Fuel cell technology just had it's fortieth birthday and we still do have have a mass production fuel cell car. I have a hydrogen supplemental on my car and raised the MPG by 30%. It cost me about a $1000.00 (in true cost) and it has probably saved three times that in fuel cost and cleaner burning exhaust. You cannot buy a car from the factory with this technology. Not everyone is willing to mess with this technology but imagine if one third of the cars on the road had this we could stop offshore drilling altogeather. It is up to all of us to get off the oil and we do have the technology to do it.

Yeah, this was long overdue. I'm only surprised that it was Dodd, and not Obama himself who blamed Bush.

In a round about way, he just did in a news conference. Claiming there was rampant corruption in the Minerals department for years.

Bush has been out of office for almost a year and a half when is Obama ever going to start acting like a President and start taking resposiblity for what's going on? That Man is so stupid if a bird had Chris Dodd's brain he would fly backwards. I guess everything that happens from for till the end of time will be Bush's fault. People might have more respect for Obama if he would just take responsibility for something.......

My first thought when I heard of this was it was not an accident. I don't expect the liberal press or the Obama administration to investigate it as if it MIGHT be intentional. But it just fits my paranoid mood since November 2008, to think that it was a ploy to get complete control of the oil industry. AND to blame Bush fits right in to that scenario. Point a finger so that no one looks at you, ever hear that saying? Mind you, I have NO proof of this..just my opinion.

I watched this and I cannot believe the Gall of that man to try to push the blame back to his good old scape goat Bush. Obama has been the President for almost two years he has had plenty of time to go in and make laws about these rigs and their regulations. OSHA has to be there by the way to make sure what is happening is safe. They are not allowed to drill with out someone there to be watching as well as having resources ready to handle any clean up id something does happen. Now it is the laws of the land that where ignored that could have helped this situation, why is no one going on about that. Bush put into effect some of the strictest laws environmentally about these and the gas rigs and fines that would blow the common man's mind for even a tiny spill. Time to step up Democrats and and take responsibility for what you have or haven't done, Bush is gone you are here you must stop passing the buck. As for Senator Dodd if I was a democrat I would be embarrassed by his lack of self respect as to not own up to what is going on and placing blame on someone long gone now.

Yeah, I remember Bush was in office in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and...isn't he still there? So it has to be his fault. And Chris Dodd's been a Senator for 30 years and has done what exactly? Man, I wish there were term limits. This guy would have had to actually find a job... I think he should open his own sweet shop...and see what it's like for a small business owner and paying taxes...unless he thinks X-Congressman don't have to pay taxes.
