What is your attitude when you see beggars in your city or town? Do you ignore them or offer them some advice or money if they ask you for money?

There's a homeless guy in my town that we see on a pretty regular basis. We usually buy him some food/drink and a pack of smokes. He's always shocked when we hand him a bag of stuff. He seems nice enough but I think he has some mental health issues. I hate giving homeless people money cause you never know what they'll do with it. Not to mention you don't know if that poor guy might end up getting robbed by some punks that pick on homeless people. Homeless people have their own network too...they know all the best spots for sleeping/eating/loitering, etc...even though they do get pretty territorial with one another. If you want to donate stuff, bring it to your local shelter. It'll probably get distributed more evenly that way.

Hi, Transformed. There is this man that lives in the same city that I live in. I think that he is homeless. I have given him money and I have seen him ask others for money too. Sometimes, I can't always give him money when I don't have any to give him. I will always be nice to him and I may speak to him too. I don't ignore him.

no i do give them money but i always think that it would be better if i could help them support to lead a decent life like helping their kids to study taking care of their educational and medical expenses or helping them in the form of donations in either cash or in kind and i am devising various ways as to how i could do all this and i am also a part of Joy Of Giving Week which has inspired me to take this step and i would wish that others also make an honest attempt to help the poor
