The only difference between me and thin people is I hate myself...They don't. (the size of our pants are different, yes i know) I'm big and uncomfortable in my skin, they are not. I hate the mirror, they can stare at themselves without pitty. how can I stop hating myself, my life is not what it should be, happiness is measured in pounds for me...I have never been skinny, just once in my life would I like to see what thats like.

I don't believe that's necessarily true. Low self esteem doesn't discriminate, there are tons of skinny people who dislike themselves.. but for them it may have nothing to do with their size. Let me ask you something.. do you hate yourself because you're fat... or are you fat because you hate yourself? I'm guessing you feel really overwhelmed by your size, and you feel the journey to get healthy is too long, so it seems pointless to bother. That's not true though. So many overweight people have made great strides towards becoming healthier. Keep a few things in mind... tell yourself constantly that you are worth it. Think of all your positive attributes.. all the reasons why you are worthy of love, especially from yourself.. list your accomplishments. Also remember that with all things in life.. you don't need to see the whole staircase.. just the next step. (a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr.)

It’s a good idea to have an idea of the calories that most food items have. If it is a packed thing then the label is sure to have the calories that the substance has.

You would be surprised about how many skinny people actually hate themselves too. Hating yourself is to do with low self esteem rather than a weight problem. Looking good may help you feel better about yourself, but it will not change the person that you are on the inside. Skinny does not mean happiness.

Hi kerry, the truth is I'm quite sure that those you refer as thin people also hate theirselves. Believe me, no one is perfectly happy with how they are. Things you don't like will always be there. But if you think at the positive sides of you, that is what is important. It's not important if you are having a bit more pounds than some others, if you would be fine with it. Wouldn't that be the most important? I mean I know others that said the exact same thing as you, but it wouldn't make you happier. If you really can't live with it, you can ask your friends to go for a walk, just for 15-30 minutes or so, you still burn calories and with your friends you can still make fun along the time.

I don't think being skinny would help you love yourself more.As for your question you should probably see psychiatrist or read one of those self help books.

I agree but in some point i don't, i'm also having problems with my weight too but having people around me that supports me all through out i don't see any reason to hate my self.
