If a book about failures doesn't sell, is it a success?

After all, it IS about failures. Does that mean it is destined to sell? Or is the fact that it didn't sell make it such a success? Is it supposed to be a failure? But who wants to read a book about failures anyways? To learn about their own mistakes or to learn from the mistakes of others? This whole discussion doesn't even make sense!!!! But then again, neither does this question!

I think if you write a book about failures, or if you write a book at all and hope to publish it, then the idea is to sell. If it doesn't, then it's a failure. That is a strange question though. One that'll keep me up the next few nights.

It is the book that we are talking about here and not its contents. A book either sells or it does not sell. If it does not sell then it is a failure no matter what the subject is. That is what I think!

Oh now that's so funny! Cute discussion and I like your way of thinking. I would guess, if the book doesn't sell, they could make a part 2, haha, such as continued failures. Maybe the book would peek some curiosity to some, just to see what the author had to say, and people might read it to learn from it, I guess.
