Its a long story of how you start developing a habit which is not part of your life, This is one method of creating a habit and making part of life Do a 30-day challenge, focusing on just ONE habit. Write it out on paper, along with your motivations, obstacles, and strategies for overcoming them. Commit fully, in a public way. Log your progress. Remain publicly accountable — report on your progress each day. Have support for when you falter — either in real life or online. Reward every little success. If you fail, figure out what went wrong, plan for it, and try again.

Hi ganeshprabhuk, thanks for sharing the valuable and detailed info of how to develop good habits I think it's more practical and effective if I have someone to check whether I have done my daily procedure strictly. For I'm a person of procrastination all the time. This my chronic bad habit which has stick to me since young I hope my hubby would give me a hand to develop good habits after reading your description here. How nice it would be if I could receive reward from him after I have a little success Take care and happy posting!

Your are very much welcome in my eyes my hubby is a considerate and generous person. That's why I would like to be his life partner lol.... I think the support of giving a little reward is no problem totally....the only thing is....he is an absent minded person most of the time

i haven't tried of smoking itself, but yes one of my friends has tried the habit of non smoking , i.e whenever he use to feel of smoking he will have a glass of tea or juice, and he has considerably reduced the time he spends with the people who smoke such that the he doesn't have the temptation to smoke

sounds like a good strategy for developing a habit. i guess the keyword here is ONE. focus on one thing at a time. that will increase your chances of success. and if you have a setback, accept it as that and persevere on achieving your goal.

They say it taked 28 days to make something as a habit. I believe that if we commit ourselves in one thing and do it religiously everyday until it becomes your habit always work. I did it experimently with myself before. I never had a habit if fixing my bed every morning. My mom will always scold me because I never fix it before I go to school. Until one morning my mom let me understand that I need to practice and do it everyday until I feel that my day is not complete without doing it. And it is effective. Until now, I'm still practicing the same thing on whatever things I need to do.
