I like the current movies especially with the special effects. And the storylines are more mind boggling and creative. With the storyline from pschological, sci-fi, action, and thriller theme it makes it more interesting. But there are still movies that are best for me in the 80's. Storylines then are more serious and with depth. It makes you analyze and think things over. What is your opinion? Would like to know what do you think?

the remakes are better in special effects, but original is still the best. like the clash of the titans, the story is more educatin with the older version than the recently released one. and there are parts that they cut which is crucial to the story as well.

I like some 80s films like the original Star Wars movies, but I don't agree that films in the 80s were more serious and more in depth. The stories seem the same to me as far as depth goes. I don't think anything's changed there. The filmmaking was also different, not just with special effects but with how movies were put together. They were created differently back in the 70s and 80s. I think the film industry went through a wacky phase where they liked crazy montages and weird editing.

I do agree that the film industry did go through a wacky phase. But I really like the movies more in the 80's. I can't say what it is really that it makes them special and better. BUt you can say that the ideas were more creative then than now.

I think the movies now are cool cuz of the special effects and the refined story line mixed with outstanding storytelling. But still, nothing beats the old school where they're still not too complicated in their production and everything is presented with classical acting.

I think both have their good. The movies nowadays stress more on the actions and the sci-fi thingy hence neglecting in the development of the story and the characters. Whereas the movies in the 80's have yet to develop any sci-fi technology so they stress more on plot developments and characters growth.

From the story side, it's better on the 80's. But the cinematographic and the effect, is way better now. But I still love watching a rerun show.

I like mas the current movies mas that nothing for the special effects and the technology that is in use now, we are accustomed to other times and when you look at some old movie that in his moment you like me today already you do not see her with the same eyes.

Personally I prefer older movies to modern ones and love the movies from the 80s. It seems to me that the movies from the 80s and before paid more interest to telling a story rather than just wowing with special effects. It's the same with older movies as well, they all tended to focus on the storyline first. As for modern movies well I watch them but find them boring with the majority focussing on style over substance. There seems to be a growing trend to fill movies with special effects, action and good looking stars yet the storylines are unoriginal and under-developed.

Current movies suck compared to movies from the 80s and even 70s. Today we might have the technology to make it look good but what happened to the good plots? Movies these days don't tell a good story unlike older movies. The movie making industry justs wants to have a movie thats up to date and make money off it with the special effects even if it doesn't tell a good story.

Some movies are called "Classic" for a reason, and I think you can find these classics in every decade since movies began. I've seen a lot of bad movies from the 2000's but some real great ones too. I'd say the movies today have more to offer visually, but story lines are just as compelling as back in the 80's Peace-out
