Which season was the best????

Okay we all know American Idol has been going on for a long time! But which season do you think is the best? Which winner? Or do you think the runner up should of won? If i get 20 replys i'll tell you mine!!! :p have fun!

Kris Allen was the best season. Not the best choice though, but that season had me on the edge of my seat from the start of auditions onwards. Second to that would be this season. The auditions weren't a pain in the butt, and there were a lot of talented people. It's just too bad that the really good ones didn't step up to the plate.

I agree with maryjane that Season 9 came in behind Season 8. Even though it was anti-climatic, it has some of the most talented contestants. I found them to be so closely matched it was hard to get excited over any of them. All it took was a tiny mistake to get booted off. I think Season 9 was spot on as to who won!!!

The great thing about Season 9 was that there wasn't a lot of annoying contestants. Previous seasons had predictable cast offs who nearly didn't amount to anything. For instance, there were a lot of pretty blonde contestants who were vocally forgettable. Season 8 and Season 9 didn't have any of those.
The downfall of Season 9 was that a lot of the talent had a good strong start but a lot of them weren't consistent or didn't move up from strong starting points. One thing that was remarkably different about Season 8 and 9 was that the contestants were really responding to what the judges were saying. Danny Gokey, Casey James, and even Lee Dewyze listened to what the judges said and it took them far. Lil Rounds couldn't even take a hint.
The worst season, if you ask me, was the 7th. David Cook won, which was okay. But early on, it was called the season with the most talent ever when a lot of them were really underwhelming.

For me the best season is american idol season 8 because it hard to choose between Archuleta and Cook. They have a tough match. I think season 9 is just second for me because I don't like the winner which is Kris allen, I like Adam lambert more than him.

This was Season 9 of American Idol. I think Season 8 was the most exciting!!! And, YES, I think the second place should have won!!!!
You are also CHEATING yourself by not including how you feel. You do NOT earn from the 20 replies that you're looking for...YOU EARN FROM WHAT YOU WRITE!!! So, by withholding your views, you are not saying as much thereby losing money!!! Also, holding out for 20 responses is lame as there are ONLY 6 members to this topic. I hope you get your 20 responses, but it is highly unlikely!!!

This is so hard. I have watched every season. My favorite would have to be the 7th season because it was between the two Davids. I wanted the younger David to win but I was still happy and enjoyed the show. The year when it was between Clay Aiken and Reuben Studders I thought it should have went to Clay Aikin. This year I was voting for Crystal in the beginning but 5 or 6 weeks before the finale I thought she lost something and wasn't in it to win. She came back on finale night but by then it was to late. I voted for Lee and was SO happy he won. He was the one that grew the most from the beginning from being so shy to owning the stage at the end.

This is really tough. To me a good season consists of at least a decent winner, a handful of contestants I really enjoy, very few to no shocking eliminations, and enjoyable themes.
Based on all of this I would have to say Season 4. I feel like pretty much everyone in the Top 24 who should have mad the Top 12 did, the themes were interesting, the contestants had great personalities, and my two favourites placed 1st and 3rd. Not only that, but the person who won that season is the second biggest contestant that the show has produced.
My favourite winner though was Kelly. Really, the only season I haven't enjoyed was this latest one. It didn't even feel like a season of American Idol it was so bad.
