As an elderly person, what wisdom would you genuinely pass down?

I've been thinking all my life that I'm an intellectual human being; however, I have realized that the older you get, I'm not sure if you actually get smarter, but you do get wiser. So it begs me to ask from those that are older, what wisdom would you pass down?

I would say that kindness is the greatest gift you can give to yourself and others.

That's a tough one because I know that if an older me went back in time to talk to say a teenage me, I wouldn't listen to a thing I had to say! Our elders may not know everything, and some of my elders didn't even finish high school. But they do have experience in life. Thing is would kids listen? I don't think I did much listening in my day. Always had to learn things the hard way. So I guess my advice would be to listen more, lol.

Give people the benefit of the doubt unless they prove otherwise fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me we are all going to grow old one day,so do not make fun of the elderly as one day you just might hate to hear that yourself. exercise, keep slim and eat healthy foods, not fast food crap. be a good listener, and keep your mouth shut until the person is through talking. Politeness never hurts and smooths all friction away. Do not try to run before you can even walk, in other words'take life one step at a time.

You know, I was just thinking the other day that I sounded just like my mother when I was giving someone advice. I think that as we get older, we realize that what our parents or others who we look up too told us, is true. We get smarter and wiser both. Smarter for realizing what things we need to be wise about. I'm not sure what wisdom that I have to pass down but I will try to be wise and give the best advice on any situation that a person might be going through.

to not trust people easily.. and to forgive everyone who hurts you... life is beautiful when you carry less burden in your heart. Alos, give and give until it hurts.. in return abundant blessings will come outpouring....
