Adjustable band rings?

I saw the cutest ring on etsy! Though it's an adjustable band. Now I know this is all costume jewelry I just think of something with an adjustable band being something I would get a lil kid out of a bubble gum machine. Would such a thing be durable for an adult to wear?

I knew a guy who was a "wire bender" who made those "name rings" with a name spelled out in metal wire who made his rings adjustable I broke many of them, but never on the adjustable part!

I've seen "adjustable" rings on eBay going for more than $20! I think of those as you do, bubble gum machine crap. They are not strong, they can't be if they can be bent like that. I would not buy such a thing.
