I first heard this song from Smallville, used as a background song for one particular sad episode. I loved it when I first heard it.
I googled it, and found out that the singer I think, wrote and sang this for her mother who died of breast cancer and it took a whole lot of meaning when I listened to it again.
I also lost my mom because of cancer so I kind of grew a certain fondness for the song.

I never knew of Mindy Smith until I heard that song. But I can tell that she's been through something, aside from that very wonderful musical talent, which led her to making such wonderful music.

Yes, I enjoy this gentle song too. I vaguely remember listening to it when it was on UK TV. As a musician myself playing, I find that the best music comes when I am feeling a little sad. They say that many people, authors and song-writers write their best stuff when they going through some sort of stressful crisis.

That is true. Trials do have ways on extracting our very best.

I have been into haunting songs lately. I'm afraid what it will do to me sooner or later!
But it's true, until now I still keep longing for her to be with us. There are very sad and trying times that I wish she was there to figure things out like she used to.
