Several weeks ago, I found a small feral male kitten in my yard. After running a few ads which got no response, he's become part of my household. He kinda is starting to run things around here. I have 2 adult girl cats that are both fixed and they both seem to love to mother him. They take turns bathing him. He's a bundle of energy and always on the move. He's an amazing jumper for his size so I decided to name him Tigger afte the bouncy Winnie the Pooh Character. The most amazing thing is that he runs really really well backwards and when he hears the vacuum, he'll run sideways. He's so sure that the vacuum is out to get him. I always try to make sure he's not in the same room when I start the vacuum but he'll come to check it out and then bounce around running sideways. He's the funniest cat I've ever had! Have you ever had a cat that ran sideways and backwards??

I've certainly had cats and kittens that kind of run sideways, but never one run backwards (tho I knew a horse that could canter backwards once...)

I have had cats that would run in various directions. Sometimes I couldn't tell what direction that they were going it was that bad. But, as for the vacume, I had a cat that loved to hiss at it. Since George treats the carpet with baking soda we take the cats out to the truck to let the floor soak up the power and we don't have to worry about them injesting it or tracking it into the litter box and stuff. But, kittens in general are usually a ball of fun. Lucky for you your two existing cats took to him so well. Fieral cats are often hard to find owners for, because they usually don't like humans hence the term ferial. I'm glad though you got what you wanted out of it though.

That is just great! I had a kitten that would do that when he was little. He would start jumping up and down and then run like crazy until he ran into a wall! It was very funny and I laughed every time! That kitten is still with us but has started to grow up now. He is more mellow now but every once in a while he will have one of those crazy kitten times and he does it again! Tigger sounds like a good name for your kitten! I like it! Hope you continue to enjoy him while he is still a kitten and long years after that!

lol! How adorable. My Stinker used to run sideways a bit with his back arched. At first I thought something might be wrong with him. He was part of a litter of 4, and he ran funny compared to the others. He's ok thank goodness, just has a different way of playing than the others. It is great your kitties are all getting along so well.
