Why is the purpose of this new law?

Man talk about change
why is Obama changing what doesnt need changed and ignoring the big issues? I dont understand it all. this morning when i got my roll your own supplies, there was a note in it about a new law." On March 31st, 2010, President Obama signed the S.1147:Pact Act legislation into law which will prohbit the delivery of cigarettes,rolling tobacco, and smokeless tobacco through internet sales, telephone,mail order to you!"
WHY?? this new law goes into effect on june, 29th, 2010. Yet, cigars, pipe tobacco, and rolling accessories will not be affected. This is just stupid. what possible help for anything can this do? im just blown away. 
You can still order and have pipe tobacco delivered. so, they suggest i use this. geesh. i'd have to change brands then just hope they will work in my machine. Im just getting more and more unhappy with him. wish someone would tell me what good he's actually doing.

It actually amends the Jenkins Act which is already on the books. And it's an act that "limits illegal smuggling." So actually, he is doing good if folks would open their eyes. He's actually doing no worse than any other president.

I don't see what the big deal is. While I may not understand some of the laws, buying things like that online makes it to accessable. In addition to riasing prices or taxing those things spsifically, He is trying to reduce sales, without putting a complete ban on it.
More and more people are irresponsable when it comes to their health. Health care costs and what not are effected, and hospitals lose money because people can't pay. A majority of those that end up in the hospital are from accidents, or dissies that could easily have been prevented if people didn't drin and drive, or smoke.

that's greed right there cloaked by anti-smoking outcry.
the online stores were undercutting in price and the states weren't getting tax in most cases,so it pissed them off.
i had a friend who was buying "25 dollar cartons" and i tried to warn him he'd get smacked.sure enough,the state chased him for the tax.and added on a "you think you're smart" fine.

I had not heard about this & altho it want affect me because i don't get my cigs by mailorder i am sick & tired of them picking on smokers PERIOD. I imagine we all know we don't need to be smoking , i do for sure but that's my choice. Obama smokes unless he has stopped. Have a god tues., BON.

well supposedly the pressure of american people has made him stop. hes been chewing the gum,wearing patches, etc. but who knows and whos gonna know? its all to make him look good. 
im sick of it also. i mean whats more important to americans? stamping out smokers or stamping out illegal immegration and poverty? seems his priorities are misguilded.
