Planning Your Wedding-All About Pleasing Everyone Else?

Hello fellow mylotters! My fiance and I are to be married this July, and I have spent the past six months planning everything! As a little girl I grew up with this fairytale idea of the day i'd get married, but I must admit reality has proven a contradiction. I used to think that my wedding day should be the one and only day of my life that is all about me! Well, and also my husband-to-be. But honestly, planning my wedding has been all about pleasing everyone but myself. The only thing I really agree with so far is my dress and the groom. I originally wanted a small wedding, but after all the what-about-me's and the I'm-so-offended's the guest list has reached 200 and is still climbing. Since my fiance is employed in the military, most of his friends at the wedding will be from his work. I was determined to only have wine at the reception, since I wanted the wedding to be a time of celebration and not chaos-Trust me, military guys know how to drink...and don't know when to stop. But after announcing this decision, most of the male guests stated vehemently that they would not be coming to the party if there is no alcohol...ouch.Of course I wanted to tell them to stick it, and I'd rather not have them at the wedding anyway. But I suppose I should try and be the respectable one... Anyways, just thought I'd share my dilemma, and am wondering if anyone has come to the same conclusions when planning a wedding.
