I don't have a twitter account, I never did. It's simply coz I don't understand how to use it, what to write, and what's the difference with Facebook. But every people that I know or don't, are using twitter, wonder what's so good about it. At least in FB we could use it for searching old friends news, invite people and so on. So why do people have both FB and Twitter, and sometimes get crazy over it..

I don't have a Twitter account either. I think it's just a waste of time anyway. I don't want to know another person's every thought and I certainly don't want them knowing mine.

Yes, you're right. Probably 80% from what people wrote in Twitter is very unimportant. But they like to write everything that they feel in that moment. Mistery ?

I think it's a waste of time too. Who cares if you're sitting outside reading a book? Does everyone need to know that?

Nice opening there. I too don't know whats the difference in FB, Twitter or even Orkut. Their ultimate goal is to make people come together and have interaction. I too have accounts on each of them, but I don't write anything there. The only writing happens when one of my friend writes something for me and I respond. I feel they should also start paying for our posts, then it will make everyone write there. What you say?

I like that idea!! If only FB knew how much time people spends infront of the computer just to update news, searching friends, posting pics and vids....they should pay us. Otherwise, people will be bored with FB or twitter someday, just like me.

Facebook seems more flexible. I mean you can do the same thing like twitter, post a status msg. But you can also do other stuff like play games and check photos etc. anyway in facebook, u can also kind of sort the people you follow, by just hiding all the friends that you dont want to see.

I don't have twitter or facebook. They aren't much use to me as I don't want to tell the world every time I go to the bathroom. I've found that most people use facebook to keep tabs on everyone they DON'T like - it's like a Stasi Operation! The constant updating bothers me, you have to have some communication device on nearly all the time - be it a computer or 'phone or whatever. Don't people know how to switch things off and walk away and do something real?

that's becoz you don't have a twitter account. if you are so curious to find out and understand twitter, try making one and start using it. It won't harm and i believe that in just few weeks (the most) you will be feeling that twitter is fun. Don't you think that before when FB is just getting famous and you haven't got one yet, you will feel that FB is so confusing and not really convenient to use? well, it is the same though. GBU

Still it's confusing. I had my FB when I saw my sister using it, it looked simple. But when she open a twitter account, I can't figure it easily. I do watch her tweeting a few times, but there's too many link posted, short code...

I am in the same boat as you are because I have never had an account on twitter nor did I ever use it though I did try to open an account there but fail to maintain it. I prefer facebook which is easy for me to keep in touch with friends and families.

I have lots of Twitter accounts and only one Facebook account. The key to understanding the possibilities of Twitter is to look at it as a "component" of an online publication. It's not an end-user or consumer product or web service like Facebook. If you have a lot of blogs, it would make sense to have several Twitter accounts as well. Since most commercially-oriented online publications rarely promote individuals, it's easy to easy to see that Facebook is an inappropriate web service to be linking to blogs or other websites. Twitter serves the purpose better. The only time Twitter is losing to Facebook is when you treat Twitter as a personal web service or something identified to one specific person. As a commercial web service, Twitter is class by itself.

The great thing about Twitter is that you can find out how your friends are doing or what they're doing. The challenge in having a Twitter account is that you have to limit your characters (letters and whatnot) to 140. It's also a great way to get news updates and popular links. The great thing about having Twitter AND Facebook, is that you can sync both accounts so that your updates on both sites can be shared. I didn't get it at first, but here's a link to a video that pretty much explains it (Just copy and paste): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddO9idmax0o Social networking isn't just for looking for friends, it's also for sharing and getting information. I believe that Twitter and Facebook has revolutionized how we find out about things.

Twitter is very much different from facebook. Twitter is a micro blogging networking site where you can send a 140 character text. It will be read by your followers who subscribed to get updates from you. However, facebook for me is more powerful than twitter since it has some advanced features.

I have a twitter account, I think I have "tweeted" twice. I just don't find that I have enough to say about myself. I do however enjoy subscribing to others, especially bands and musicians. It's a good way to stay updated on that type of stuff.

I don't really know and don't really see much difference when you use both of them. I think with Twitter you are able to adjust your settings and type what you are doing on your cell phone and then onto your Twitter account. I think the most famous person with a Twitter account would have to be Ashton Kutcher. But I am not really interested in what he is doing. I don't have a Twitter account.

Twitter is taking the social networking world and breaking it down into one basic component-- chatting. In twitter, people can write random messages to say how they are doing, recommend a good book movie or t.v. show, or take a few seconds to send a message to a friend. Big name compnies use it to post news on what's happening, and get feedback on a product or service. Sometimes you don't need a whole page to be creative, and say what's on your mind. Facebook offers more (not much more) but still more then twitter does. I have a twitter account and I have a few fallers as well as I fallow a few people as well. Mainly people who may be of some benifit to me. And, sometimes its just as simple to tweet the weather or something stupid.

Hello! Recently created Twitter account, but I do not use it. I too don't understand how to use it. I think Twitter is something like communication tool. People use it to community to other people. But, I think Facebook too is good for community. Why people use Twitter? Twitter is very popular in nowadays. I know that students use it. I still do not understand why there is follow option? It is like globally system where you can create big group of people, and discuss for an interesting themes?

I have an account with twitter but I rarely open it. Like you, I don't really get its concept until now. What I understand from it is if people want to update their friends there what's happening in their live, they can type it there.

I feel the same way as you Cris, I don't understand it's difference amongst other social sites. I made an account on twitter, but I haven't used it since then. I'm much into facebook till now, as well as I'm starting to get a hang of this site too. Maybe Twitter is so IN because they can easily follow their friends, favorite celebrities status over there. Not sure, but that's what I thought about it.

I don't have twitter either. Seems with twitter you can tell people every minute of the day what you are doing right then. I got sucked into facebook for my 20th high school reunion and have found not only family and friends on there. It's great to talk to family like cousins and second cousins who you don't see at all but wonder what they are up too.But the twitter thing i have to agree with you. I don't see whats great about it unless you want to follow Ashton Kutcher :)
