That question is always in interview questions. I have this pattern I learned from a career workshop a few years back it says there you can say things like: I am ..., I have ..., and I can... In am, you can tell values that you possess that will make the interviewer impressed about you, I have...you tell something about your experiences and how it helped you, and I can.. you say the things that you can do. You can be concise with your answers, at the same time make an impression.

Boss. when such a question is asked in an job interview where u have already submitted your resume. They expect you to speak about yourself , the details which are not in the resume, like your character, ability to deal with team members, team management skills, some things which won't look good if put in the resume - how well u tackled a problem at office. Project yourself , do a marketing of yourself, but be honest. Something which you say should not contradict the details of the resume.. even personal matters can be told. Don't tell about your schooling , college and all since all those are in the resume itself and always think that the guy siting before you is smarter than you and will take any lead you give him to screw you, if u give him one. Hope this helps :-) ..

Tell something about your characteristics or strength that will relate to the requirements of the position you are applying, and give out specific examples or your achievements that can justify your strength, in that way they can figure out if you are the right candidate, and avoid personal issues.

Sweetie, in most cases if they ask to tell something about yourself, it is your hobbies and what you enjoy in life. Just please, never talk about your life at home. Most bosses want that and it has nothing to do with them. TATA.

I really would not know what tell hide or tell. But, in my opinion, if he asks about it then you tell him. Honesty in a job is better. It shows how you are and how they can make good use of your skills.
