Do you feel annoyed thinking that other mylotters dont give details about their discussions? I do feel annoyed sometimes that's why instead of giving the comment right away, I ask questions first. Anyway, I think there are supposes why they dont give details about their topics. Sometimes I dont give details about my discussions too. There are two reasons and one is that I wont be able to know what to say more if I give details and when people start to respond to the discussion. Another reason is that there are things that are too private for strangers to know. I think there are some people here who dont feel comfortable sharing details about their lives. What do you think? Is this true for you? Do you have other reasons why you dont give details to your discussions? What are the reasons?

There are some discussion posted that is a sort of research. That is why it asked because one want to know what is all about. They want to get some information and by then they learned from it. I can feel the sincerity of some mylotters posting it, they were really thankful to the details we have posted that has helped them a lot. Although, some are posting for the sake of discussion. There are times also before posting you have all the ideas and details what to write but once you started, oh! my goodness,,, it's all gone, it's blocked out. All you left is a dull discussion...

That's why they always say that details are important but I dont think there are dull discussions here because a lot of mylotters also have limitations especially when it comes to specific skills in English. I think we need to respect the person making the discussion. Its their opinion and nothing is wrong with that. I made this discussion by the way because I was wondering if people here gets annoyed with discussions that are not detailed.

I agree with you. Some people make short and vague posts and expect others to be able to answer them. I find these kind of posts very irritating and try to ignore them. I think that one of the reasons behind this is that some people only make quick posts in order to get the money. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying that everyone is like this. Some people could have other reasons like they do not know how to put in words what they are thinking. Who knows what reasons people have.

Hi home shoppers: In my case I try my best to do a good selections of the questions I decide to answer. I chose the most interesting subjects and I also look for good questions, etc. The rest if I don't feel connected to the discussion or question. I won't make an answer. Thanks for your answer :) Have a nice day. ALVARO.

well that is why you don't start up discussion about personal issues unless you want to disclose your personal life. Yes I feel your frustration too, but then again it does not really matter to me.

Hi p3ks626: I think that privacy is very important so when I start a new discussion I share some things with my friends but I don't give all the details because of that. I think it's not ok to open a discussion without the necessary information that will make people able to make a decent answer. I think that would be mediocre but at the same time I think you know what to show and what to hide. It depends on you. Thanks for asking us this question. Have a nice day. ALVARO.

For me generally in some of my topics they are personal, and I ask for advice, so I always give as much detail as possible, so I know that people can understand what I am saying and give the the relevant advice.

You are right about that! Details are really important but there are some who wouldnt say a lot about personal matters. Though mylot is all about discussions and things like that but there are really some who would just give 1 or 2 liner discussions and that not really helpful, is it?

Hello p3ks626, Yes, some people here on mylot do not give out alot details and some questions are very personal. I only give out details that I feel confortable with. But sometimes when I need answers I need to give as much detail in order to see the feedback that comes back. I know there are several correct answers to many of these questions on mylot and it being able to choose the best one that fits your situation. Since I do not have many friends to talk to personally or face to face mylotters help me sort out certian situations or I get answers saymaybe from 3 people saying no on cetain questions and one says yes so helps to get the feedback. Again I only give details if helps answer questions or if I am asking questions. Thanks and have a great day Sincerley Unique16

I haven't made any discussions yet, but have gone through posts that I have responded to. I guess some intentionally does it, just like as you've said. But sometimes, people are (I guess) too busy to do other works here for they might be multitasking and doing something else while in front of their computer. I Maybe that's why I'm still slow participating here also.. :)
