I took my nephew to Chicago over the long weekend. The highlight for him was getting to swim in Lake Michigan. I was surprised at this because we saw and did so many things. I didn't even know he liked to swim so much!Where was your favorite place to swim?

That's cool. I hadn't seen any of the Great Lakes until a couple of years ago. It's about like seeing the ocean! I like swimming about anywhere.. as long as it's warm!

When I was a wee lad, my cousins and I would go skinny dipping in Lake Ontario.
We'd strip down and then jump off of these huge cliffs, not even giving a thought or a care as to WHERE or WHAT we might bang our heads into. We just wanted to see who'd be crazy enough to be the first one to do it. But, one thing I DO recall was...that lake was COLD! Woo-ha! Good job neither of our folks found out either, else we'd be grounded for weeks. It wouldn't be the taking off of all our clothes that would bother them. Heck no. We just weren't supposed to go anywhere NEAR those cliffs!
Well, unfortunately ya can't swim in Lake Ontario these days. I'm afraid too much pollution over the years has put a damper on that. Only designated areas now, are allowed. It's sad really.
When we got a little older, and had more sense, we swam at the lake way up in cottage country. The water up there is all spring-fed, and completely free of pollution, to this day....but still cold!
