Is it possible to change the ram?

I know it's possible for desktop. People can increase there desktop computer RAM or hard disk. But how about the laptop? Is it possible? I heard laptop should not open.
But why?
I would like to increase my laptop ram. But i never heard to change it. So now what should i do?

Yes it is possible.
The laptops are the growing fastly day by day.
In india the companies like dell, compaq, hp,hcl are growing fastly.

Yes, it IS possible to add memory to the RAM on a laptop. I know people who have done it, but I don't know what they did. I usually go to howstuffworks.com to ask questions like that. They might not tell you exactly how, but they usually show you enough that you can do it yourself.

Yes you could change the RAM of a laptop. It's just you might have warranty issues if you do it yourself. It is better to go to your vendor and ask them if they can upgrade the RAM.
