Have you ever sniffed your socks to make sure they were clean?

I have sniffed my socks to see if they were clean. I know sounds gross but if they are laying on the floor with no visable stains I have to check them some way. I am not just going to throw something in the wash that was already clean. I hate to waste water and rewash stuff that does need to be recleaned. It a waste of presious time and water. Sniffing your own socks to see if they are clean isn't all that bad unless you get some really stinky ones!

i always sniff my socks before and after using it, to monitor my feet if it has any fungal infection as smelly socks equates to smelly feet, and smelly feet is always associated to fungal or bacterial infection. Most of the time my used sock don't smell any thing other than the smell of the leather of my shoes. But sometimes i do have smelly feet and i treat it immediately.

haha ya I've done that. But not for waste of water, just if I'm in a hurry, and I can't find any clean socks. My wife actually asked me that "Why do guys always do the sniff test on their clothes?" I didn't know it was a guy thing, I just thought it was me. But before if I couldn't find any clean clothes I would just find something laying around somewhere, and sniff it, to see if it stunk.

I use to sniff socks to tell if they were clean. One time I sniff my sock and it smelled so bad that I decided not to sniff socks again. I decided to just wash any socks I find on the floor. I would rather wash the socks again then smell a terrible odor.

Personally speaking, I never do the same thing as you. Every time as soon as I return home, I always take off my socks and put them in a fixed place in the bathroom. When I plan to wash my socks, I could find them easily. After I finish washing them, I put them in the drawer. So I never have the chance to check whether socks are clean or not through my nose.

Sorry, but I cannot understand why you would need to check if your socks were clean or not. To me it is all pretty simple - if you have worn the socks then they need washed, if not then they should be folded in the correct drawer. I don't understand why anyone would leave clean clothes on the floor - or, why anyone would choose to wear clothes previously worn.
